SUMMARY
On June 22, the 30-share BSE SENSEX rose by 291.17 points or 0.38% to close at 77,094.07, while the 50-share NSE NIFTY edged higher by 0.37% or 89.80 points to end at 24,102.90.

During the session, the SENSEX surged as much as 0.68% to hit an intraday high of 77,325.56. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 reached the session’s peak of 24,168.05.
On June 22, the 30-share BSE SENSEX rose by 291.17 points or 0.38% to close at 77,094.07, while the 50-share NSE NIFTY edged higher by 0.37% or 89.80 points to end at 24,102.90.
Shares of Cipla closed 4.82% higher on Monday, after analysts at City said that approvals like the gFlovent (Goa facility) and the upcoming gVentolin launch are key near-term triggers for the company. Furthermore, Nintedanib's market share has neared 50% in the United States. The re-inspection and potential USFDA clearance of its Indore plant are also some significant upside catalysts.
The other top gainers included Tech Mahindra (2%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (1.56%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.39%) and Bajaj Auto (1.39%).
On the other hand, shares of Asian Paints closed 2.17% lower.
It was followed by selling in Titan Company (-1.32%), Nestle India (-1.06%), Shriram Finance (-0.99%) and Trent (-0.96%), which were among the other top losers.
NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge advanced by 0.34% or 211.80 points to end at 62,729.10 on June 22.
The index was supported by Mankind Pharma (5.34%), Aditya Birla Capital (4.36%), Tata Communications (4.09%), Jubilant Foodworks (3.44%) and Bharat Forge (3.31%), which were among the top winners.
Shares of Bharat Forge hit their 52-week high on June 22, as the company secured a major order from the Ministry of Defence.
Last week, Bharat Forge Limited signed a ₹425 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of gas turbine generators to the Indian Navy for onboard power generation on Kolkata-class ships. The contract will be executed over a period of 5 years, the company said.
On the flip side, Steel Authority of India (-3.39%), IndusInd Bank (-3.02%), LG Electronics India (-2.72%), Waaree Energies (-2.09%) and Yes Bank (-1.81%) were among the top laggards.
The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced by 0.60% or 112.55 points to close at 18,897.
The top gainers included Triveni Turbine (8.97%), Aegis Logistics (5.58%), IDBI Bank (5.45%), Urban Company (5.42%) and Delhivery (5.10%).
On the contrary, Five-Star Business Finance (-3.17%), Himadri Speciality Chemical (-3.14%), Piramal Finance (-2.93%), IFCI (-2.72%) and Aster DM Healthcare (-2.64%) were among the top losers.
