TCS to create 5,000 new jobs in the UK

On October 10, TCS, in its press release, announced the launch of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience Zone and Design Studio in London, reaffirming its continued strategic investment across the United Kingdom (UK) and upholding its long-standing partnership with the UK economy. Further, with its continued investment in creating employment and supporting talent development, TCS said it would create 5,000 new jobs across the UK over the next three years.

Vinay Singhvi, Head of UK & Ireland, TCS, said, “The UK is TCS’ second-largest market globally, making it central to our investment strategy around the world. The AI Experience Zone will further help to foster innovation in collaboration with businesses throughout the UK, helping to maintain an edge in artificial intelligence and new technologies. Additionally, we are continuing to expand our footprint across the UK, with investment into innovation, people, and skills in all four nations.”

TCS Partners with Google Cloud to Integrate Gemini Enterprise

On October 14, TCS said it was expanding its long-standing partnership with Google Cloud by adopting its next-generation agentic AI platform, Gemini Enterprise. This partnership will empower TCS’ workforce to build agentic AI solutions to redefine human + AI workflows. Gemini Enterprise will enable the development of custom agents and seamless integration of pre-built Google Cloud agents and third-party agents. Agent-to-agent communication and agentic orchestration capabilities of Gemini Enterprise will simplify multi-step operational workflows and accelerate scaling agentic solutions in enterprises.

This collaboration strengthens the broader tcsAI initiative towards capability building and reinforces TCS’ commitment to democratise access to best-of-breed platforms. The access to Gemini models enables TCS to ideate, innovate, and rapidly build AI-led solutions for its customers.

UK Retailer Kingfisher Plc Deepens Partnership with TCS

On October 15, TCS said it has extended its 15-year partnership with Kingfisher Plc, a leading home improvement retailer with over 1,900 stores across seven countries in the UK and Europe. Under the new agreement, TCS will help Kingfisher to significantly enhance operational efficiency by deploying automation and artificial intelligence (AI). Together, both organisations will establish a joint ‘Innovation and Automation Office’ to seamlessly integrate emerging technologies and practices, while also reducing operating costs.

To advance Kingfisher’s strategic growth, TCS will introduce a domain-focused application support structure aligned with Kingfisher’s product and platform approach. TCS will accelerate the use of automation and artificial intelligence in IT operations by building on the success of ignio™, its SaaS-based AIOps platform, along with its generative AI-powered Application Reliability Engineering solution. These technologies will provide actionable insights and enable predictive and proactive management of IT systems for the retailer.

TCS Conducts World’s Largest AI Hackathon

On October 16, TCS said in its press release that it had concluded the first edition of the tcsAI Hackathon 2025 globally. With over 281,000 employees participating from across 58 countries, the hackathon has made history by becoming the world’s largest AI hackathon.

Anchored on 21 industry-relevant AI themes, the event set a new benchmark in diversity and reach for the industry, with 33% of participants being women, 53% of local employees taking part in overseas geographies, 36% of participants being mid-level and senior, 38% of participants being employees in the Gen Z age group, and 29% of participants being non-technical.

"Part of TCS’ initiatives to accelerate AI adoption among employees under the unified banner tcsAI (to be read as 'TCS to the power of AI'), the Hackathon is a key enabler to driving an AI-first culture at TCS. tcsAI also provides TCS employees access to GenAI-powered platforms, tools, and environments to explore, learn, and meaningfully integrate AI into their everyday work," the press release added.

TCS and Marks & Spencer (M&S)

On October 26, TCS, in its filing to stock exchanges, shared a statement in response to the article published by ‘The Telegraph’ newspaper in the UK on October 26, 2025, titled “M&S ousts Indian outsourcer accused of £300m cyberattack failures”.

TCS said, “The report published by The Telegraph is misleading, with factual inaccuracies including the size of the contract and the continuity of TCS’ work for Marks & Spencer (M&S). As both M&S and TCS have clarified, the service desk contract with M&S followed a regular competitive RFP process initiated in January 2025, with M&S opting to proceed with other partners much prior to the cyber incident in April 2025. These matters are hence clearly unrelated."

The commercial aspect of the service desk area also represents an insignificant part of TCS’ overall engagement with M&S. TCS continues to work on numerous other areas in its role as a strategic partner for M&S and is proud of this longstanding partnership, it added.

"On the cyber incident itself, as clarified previously, TCS had conducted a scan of its own networks and systems and had been able to conclude that the vulnerabilities had not originated from there. TCS does not provide cybersecurity services to M&S. This is a service that is provided by another partner," TCS further said.
