Stock market crash: ITC, Kaynes Technology, Premier Energies among 281 stocks that hit 52-week low on NSE

NIFTY50 and SENSEX declined for fifth consecutive day. As of 3:00 pm, NIFTY50 index was down over 200 points or 0.7% to trade around 25,676, while the SENSEX is trading 605 points lower or 0.7% at 83,574 on January 9. NIFTY50 index started this week around 26,333 and currently trades at 25,676, losing over 650 points in five trading sessions.

Current market sentiments are weak amid rising geopolitical tensions, uncertainty around the India-US trade deal and concerns around further rise in US trade tariffs. Experts believe further escalation of the US-Venezuela conflict could add to geopolitical complexity and impact domestic markets as well.

Broader market indices like NIFTY Midcap100 (-0.7%) and NIFTY Smallcap100 (-1.7%) are also trading lower. More than 1290 stocks hit their 52-week low amid the market fall.

The volatility index, or India VIX, is up2.6% to 10.89. Among NIFTY sectoral indices NIFTY Realty (-2.1%) and NIFTY Financial Services (-1.3%) were top losers, while NIFTY Oil & Gas (+0.4%) and NIFTY IT (+0.3%) were top gainers. Adani Enterprises (-2.7%), NTPC (-2.4%), and ICICI Bank (-2.1%) were top three NIFTY50 losers.
