Sterlite Technologies shares soar 4.5% on securing $220 million order; shares soar 515% YTD

Shares of leading optical fibre maker Sterlite Technologies jumped over 4% after the company announced a $221 million order win. The made intraday of ₹666 per share on the NSE before paring all the gains at 1:30 pm.

Sterlite Technologies has secured an order worth around $210 million from a leading telecom infrastructure company. The order is for the supply of high-density optical fibre cable. The order is to be executed over a period of three calendar years (CY27-29).

Earlier, the company had secured an order worth around ₹960 crore from a domestic telecom operator for the supply of optical fibre cables as per customer specifications under a multi-year supply agreement. Sterlite Technologies is one of the industry's leading integrators of digital networks, providing All-in 5G solutions.

The shares are among the top gainers of 2026, after soaring 515% on a YTD basis. The company holds a significant position in the AI ecosystem supply chain. Earlier this week, the company received an order worth around ₹960 crore from a domestic telecom operator for the supply of optical fibre cables as per customer specifications under a multi-year supply agreement. The agreement is for a period of 2 years and is extendable by another 2 years on mutual agreement. The order is scheduled to be executed in FY28 and FY29.

In the latest Q1FY27 earnings, the company’s revenue jumped 90% to ₹1,910 crore as compared to ₹1,019 crore. The EBITDA soared to ₹397 crore for the quarter as compared to ₹140 crore. Lastly, the net profit for the quarter jumped multi-fold from ₹10 crore in the same period last year to ₹197 crore in Q1FY27.

In the latest Q1FY27 earnings, the company’s revenue jumped 87% to ₹1,910 crore as compared to ₹1,019 crore. The EBITDA soared to ₹397 crore for the quarter as compared to ₹140 crore. Lastly, the net profit for the quarter jumped multi-fold from ₹10 crore in the same period last year to ₹197 crore in Q1FY27. During the quarter, the company won orders worth ₹13,100 crore, including a landmark order from a global hyperscaler for ₹10,000 crore.

Similarly, the company’s market share in the optical fibre cable segment (Ex-China) jumped 100bps to 9% in Q1FY27 as compared to 8% in FY26.
