Renewable energy producer ACME Solar Holdings shares surged more than 5% during the trading session on Friday, September 18, as investors focused on the company’s latest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operational update amid management’s focus on capex expansion.
NSE data showed that ACME Solar Holdings shares surged 5.6% to touch an intraday and 52-week high of ₹434.70 apiece on Friday’s market, in comparison to ₹411.30 apiece at the previous equity market close.
Trading volumes of the company’s stock surged past 3 million equity shares across NSE and BSE combined, and ACME Solar shares retracted some of their early market gains, trading 4% higher as of 12:05 pm (IST) at mid-market on the National Stock Exchange.
In the company’s latest filing on Thursday night, ACME Solar disclosed that the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, has successfully commissioned Phase-II of the BESS component in a project located in Rajasthan.
“ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited has commissioned Phase-II of the BESS component, comprising 52.32 MW/209.28 MWh out of 300 MW / 1200 MWh (Discharge Capacity) of the FDRE Project located at Kelan, Rajasthan on September 17, 2026,” the company informed the stock exchanges.
The company also disclosed that the commercial operational date for the Phase-II BESS project will be Saturday, September 19, 2026. With this new capacity addition, the total commissioned capacity of ACME Greentech Seventh Pvt. Ltd has increased to 105.95 MW / 423.80 MWh of the BESS component.
The renewable energy producer also said that a power purchase agreement has been signed with SJVN, with long-term project financing from REC.
“ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity for this project by Q3 of the current fiscal,” the company said.
Against the backdrop of strong revenue and profitability performance in Q1 results FY27, ACME Solar’s management upgraded its full-year capital expenditure (capex) guidance to the range of ₹15,000-20,000 crore with aims to deliver better return economics and more flexibility.
In the Q1 results, ACME Solar’s revenues surged more than 63%, while the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) improved by 56% with an 87% consolidated EBITDA margin.
NSE data showed that ACME Solar shares have delivered more than 40% returns on their investment in the last one-year period, and the company’s stock has gained over 80% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis so far in 2026.
The exchange data also showed that the company's shares have risen more than 15% in the past one-month, and were trading 6.4% higher in the last five market sessions.
While ACME Solar shares hit their 52-week high on Friday’s market, the company’s 52-week low was at ₹195.90 apiece on January 27, 2026.
The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at ₹30,296 crore as of the trading session on Friday, September 18, 2026.
