Shiprocket shares jump over 8% as Goldman Sachs buys over 40 lakh equity shares via bulk deal

Logistics solutions provider Shiprocket shares surged more than 8% after the opening bell on Thursday, August 20, as investors focused on global investment major Goldman Sachs picking up a stake in the company through a bulk deal transaction.

NSE data showed that Shiprocket shares gained 8.5% to an early market high of ₹155.69 apiece on Thursday’s market, in comparison to ₹143.45 apiece at the previous equity market close.

After touching the early market high, the company shares retracted some of their intraday gains, trading 5.6% higher at around ₹151.49 apiece during the morning market hours on August 20.

The logistics solutions provider’s shares made a strong debut on the domestic stock exchanges on Wednesday, August 19, marking a listing premium over its issue price as investors focused on the company’s infrastructure push plans.

Goldman Sachs buys stake

NSE bulk deal data showed that global investment firm Goldman Sachs purchased 40,24,040 (over 40 lakh) equity shares through its entity named — Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio during the trading session on Wednesday, August 19.

The investment firm purchased the stake for a weighted average price of ₹131 apiece, as per the exchange data. This is the same price at which the company's shares were listed on the National Stock Exchange.

How much did investors make from Shiprocket IPO?

Shiprocket shares were listed on NSE at ₹131 apiece, marking a listing premium of 35.05% on top of the IPO issue price of ₹97 apiece. While BSE data showed that the company’s stock was listed at a 33.51% premium of ₹129.50 per share on Wednesday’s market.

With 154 shares per lot of investment, equity market investors who were able to receive Shiprocket IPO shares were able to make a total of ₹20,174 per lot from their initial investment of ₹14,938 per lot.

Since its listing, the company's shares have been rising in the second trading session on the Indian stock market.

NSE data showed that, so far, Shiprocket shares have delivered 18.8% returns to investors as of Thursday’s trading session since the listing on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Shiprocket fund utilisation plans

As per the company’s RHP filing with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Shiprocket plans to use the proceeds collected from the IPO round to fund a series of utilisation plans in the upcoming period.

Due to the public offering being a combination of fresh issue and OFS, the ₹885.50 crore raised from the fresh issue is estimated to be used in the following ways.

The company said that it will fund investments in marketing initiatives for the emerging and core business verticals, along with spending on technology infrastructure and capabilities.

Along with its investment plans, Shiprocket will also repay or prepay some of its debts, including the payment of interest accrued on the same.

The company will also use the proceeds from the IPO round to fund inorganic growth through unidentified acquisitions and general corporate purposes.
