Sagility, CE Info Systems, Global Health shares spurt amid spike in volumes; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks erased intraday gains in noon deals. The SENSEX fell as much as 365 points from the day's highest level and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 24,266 after hitting a high of 24,379. Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra.

As of 1:12 pm, the SENSEX was down 31 points at 77,625 and NIFTY50 index declined 68 points to 24,266.

Here are shares witnessing heavier than usual trading activity:
Varun Beverages: Shares of the Pepsi bottler in India declined as much as 3.4% to hit an intraday low of ₹423.10 after the company said it would enter the alcoholic beverages segment as per its diversification strategy.

The company, in a regulatory filing, had said that it would incorporate a wholly owned subsidiary in India to carry on the business of ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, alcoholic beverages and allied products. This is, however, subject to receipt of the applicable requisite approvals.

Trading volume on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped by 5.5 times to 2.28 crore shares compared with an average volume of 41.119 lakh shares.

As many as 7.9 lakh shares changed hands on BSE compared with an average of 2.41 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

CE Info Systems: Shares of the country's leading tech company that provides digital maps rose as much as 6.7% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,029 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 5.4 times to 6.64 lakh shares on the NSE compared with an average volume of 1.24 lakh shares.

A total of 33,000 shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 10,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Global Health: Shares of the Medanta hospital operator rose as much as 5% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,476 after the company announced that its management will meet analysts in a meeting announced by Prabhudas Lilladher Capital on August 31.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 5.3 times to 5.11 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 196,212 shares.

As many as 2.56 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 24,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Cyient: Shares of the digital engineering and technology solutions company rose as much as 7.7% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,054.85 as the Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday gave approval to the company for its proposed acquisition of TAO Digital Solutions Inc.

The approval came after Hyderabad-based Cyient Ltd, in May this year, announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire TAO Digital Solutions Inc, an AI-native data and product engineering solutions firm headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 4.2 times to 99 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 18.94 lakh shares.

Sagility: Shares of the IT company rose as much as 7.15% to hit an intraday high of ₹46 after it started trading in the derivatives segment.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 4.6 times to 7.94 crore shares compared with an average volume of 1.72 crore shares.
