NIFTY, SENSEX decline after 7-day rally; HAL, REC, Trent, L&T among top buzzing stocks

Top buzzing stocks: Benchmark indices gave up early gains and slipped into the red on Wednesday due to profit-taking. SENSEX declined 259 points to 77,753, while NIFTY fell by 0.19% to 23,624 at 1:00 pm.

From the NIFTY pack, IndusInd Bank, Trent, Mahindra & Mahindra, Power Grid, and BEL were among the major gainers.

NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Axis Bank, and Bajaj Finance were among the top laggards.

Top buzzing stocks on March 26

Siemens India: Shares of the technology giant rose as much as 7.47% to ₹5,501.7 apiece on the NSE after the National Company Law Tribunal's (NCLT's) green light to demerge the company's energy business.
According to the restructuring scheme, Siemens shareholders will receive one share of Siemens Energy India Ltd (SEIL) for each Siemens share they hold as of the record date, which is April 7.

The company also appointed Guilherme Vieira De Mendonca as the managing director and chief executive officer of SEIL. He was earlier heading Siemens' energy business.

HAL: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd shares climbed 3.35% to ₹4,147 per unit on the NSE after GE Aerospace on Tuesday delivered the first of 99 F404-IN20 engines for the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft Mk 1A Fighter Jet.

"This is an important milestone in our 40-year partnership with HAL and in our ongoing efforts to support India's defence sector by advancing next-generation fighter capabilities while strengthening domestic defence manufacturing," GE Aerospace said in a statement.

REC: The stock declined 2% to ₹430.15 per share on the NSE after the company's board on Wednesday approved borrowing plans for the financial year 2025-26 (FY26) worth ₹1.7 lakh crore.

This includes debentures, domestic bonds, capital gains tax exemption bonds, external commercial borrowing, rupee term loan from banks and financial institutions amounting to ₹1.55 lakh crore; short-term loan from bank and financials institutions valued at ₹10,000 crore, and commercial papers valued at ₹5,000 crore, the company said in an exchange filing.

Larsen & Toubro: L&T shares are up 0.4% to ₹3,484 after the company bagged its largest-ever order for its offshore hydrocarbon business worth more than ₹15,000 crore from QatarEnergy LNG.

"The scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of two offshore compression complexes, each comprising of large offshore platforms with compression & power generation facilities, living quarters, flare platforms, interconnected bridges, and other associated structures to be located at approximately 80 kms off the northeast coast of Qatar," L&T said in a regulatory filing.

Trent: The stock advanced 3.2% to ₹5,352 apiece on the NSE after the company opened two Westside stores in Jaipur and one in Chennai. With this, the total store count has reached 244.
