NIFTY50, SENSEX trade flat down in afternoon session; KRBL, RailTel, JBM Auto, Vi among buzzing stocks

The equity benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY50 continued to trade flat down in a volatile session on Monday, September 15, as IT and pharma stocks dragged. Market investors also remain wary ahead of the US Federal Reserve rate cut decision this week. 

At 12:46 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was down 16.48 points, or 0.02%, at the 81,888.22 level, while NSE’s NIFTY50 was trading at the 25,097.65 level, slipping 16.35 points, or 0.07%.
Shriram Finance was the biggest losing stock on the NIFTY50 index in the afternoon session, falling 1.41%. Asian Paints (-1.39%), Dr Reddy’s (-1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra (-1.11%) and Eicher Motors (-1.09%) were the other top losers.

On the contrary, Bajaj Finance (1.35%), Eternal (0.86%), ICICI Bank (0.64%), Coal India (0.63%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.54%) were the stocks that gained the most.

Buzzing stocks on September 15: Check list

KRBL

Shares of KRBL tumbled as much as 13% to an intraday low of ₹387.10 on Monday after the company’s Independent Director, Anil Kumar Chaudhary, resigned, citing governance issues.

Chaudhary had resigned from KRBL’s board last week on September 8, 2025.

“After careful thought and consideration, I have concluded that I am no longer able to meaningfully contribute to the Board's functioning in the manner envisioned under the regulatory framework for independent directors. I believe that effective governance and truly independent oversight are essential ingredients for safeguarding stakeholder interests, and I find the prevailing dynamics of the Board to be inconsistent with these principles,” Anil Kumar Chaudhary said in his resignation letter.

At 12:30 PM, the rice exporter’s stock was trading at ₹400.75, tanking 9.76% on NSE.

RailTel Corporation

Shares of Railtel Corporation have seen an upward momentum of 8.8% to touch an intraday high of ₹407.70 apiece on Monday. The rise in the share price comes after the company announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the State Project Director, Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). The order pertains to the implementation of Education Quality Enhancement in Bihar under the PM SHRI scheme.

The company said the order is domestic, supply in nature, and valued at ₹209.79 crore as per the LOA. The project is scheduled to be executed by September 11, 2026.

At 12:31 PM, shares of Railtel are trading 5.54% higher at ₹395 apiece on the NSE.

According to RailTel’s filing, there is no interest from the promoter, promoter group, or group companies in the awarding entity. It also clarified that the order does not fall under related party transactions.

Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea (Vi) shares surged more than 7% to an intraday high of ₹8.20 after reports suggested that the telecom firm’s case against the Department of Telecom (DoT) over additional AGR dues is tentatively scheduled for hearing on September 19.

The debt-laden telecom company had moved to the Supreme Court seeking reassessment of additional adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues last week.

Shares of Vodafone Idea rallied after the development. At 12:35 PM, the stock was trading at ₹8.15, gaining 6.27%. In the last five trading sessions, Vodafone Idea shares have jumped nearly 13%, while for a month’s time, they have zoomed 25.5%. In the last six months, the stock has climbed 17%.

Vodafone Idea owes nearly ₹83,400 crore in AGR dues, and the annual payments currently stand at ₹18,000 crore, scheduled from March 2026. When combined with interest and penalties, Vodafone Idea’s dues stand at more than ₹2 lakh crore.

JBM Auto

Shares of the Gurugram-based JBM Auto witnessed an upward momentum for the second consecutive day on Monday after the company secured a $100 million long-term capital investment in rupee equivalent from the International Financial Corporation (IFC) on Thursday, September 11.

Shares of JBM Auto continued to rise 7.20% higher to touch an intraday high of ₹764.30 apiece on NSE. At 12:37 PM, the stock was trading 5.76% higher at ₹754.55 apiece on the NSE.

With an aim to give a major boost to electrifying public transport in India, JBM ECOLIFE Mobility (P) Ltd, a JBM Auto Ltd company, has successfully secured a $100 million long-term capital investment from the International Financial Corporation (IFC), as mentioned in the press release on Thursday, post-market hours.

Engineers India

Shares of PSU Engineers India Ltd (EIL) advanced 4.4% to the session’s high of ₹218 apiece on NSE, after the firm bagged an order worth ₹618 crore from a fertiliser company in Africa.

At the time of writing, EIL stock was trading 1.02% higher at ₹210.94 per equity share.

EIL was awarded the contract for providing project management consultancy (PMC) services, along with engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for a new fertiliser plant in Africa, it said in a regulatory filing dated Friday.

The contract will be valid for a period of 24 months, or two years, the filing added.

Vikram Solar 

Shares of recently listed Vikram Solar advanced as much as 3.83% to ₹370.95 apiece on the NSE, following an update the company shared in its press release this morning.

The press release states that Vikram Solar, one of India's leading solar PV module manufacturers, has announced a major order of 200 MW high-efficiency solar modules from AB Energia, a specialist in end-to-end EPC solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects.

The modules, rated at 590 Wp and above, will be deployed across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, three solar-progressive states that are accelerating their clean energy adoption.

At 12:44 PM, Vikram Solar shares were trading at ₹360.30 apiece, rising 0.85% on NSE.

L&T

Shares of Larsen & Toubro gained almost 1% on Monday after the infrastructure major bagged a ₹2,500-5,000 crore construction order for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.

The project will involve the design, supply, construction, testing, and commissioning of track works on a design-build lump sum price basis between Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai and Zaroli village in Gujarat, L&T said in a regulatory filing.

The order also includes over 21 km of track work in underground sections and 135 km of track on the elevated viaduct sections, it added.

The Mumbai-headquartered EPC firm said it is adopting Japanese Shinkansen J Slab Track Technology for the track works, which will enable a speed of up to 320 kmph.

At 12:45 PM, shares of Larsen & Toubro were ₹3,598.10 apiece on NSE, rising 0.51%.
