The Indian equity benchmarks are set to open on a flat note on Monday, August 10, as indicated by GIFT NIFTY futures. NIFTY futures at GIFT City in Gandhinagar advanced 5 points to 24,660 amid positive cues from Asian markets.
The benchmarks snapped their two-day winning run on Friday as sentiment turned cautious tracking a spike in crude prices in global markets.
The SENSEX ended 456 points lower at 78,499.17 and NIFTY50 index declined 65 points to close at 24,570.65.
Asian markets were trading higher on Monday after a softer US jobs data report dashed hopes of interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve going ahead.
Japan's Nikkei rose 2%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng advanced 0.7%, China's Shanghai Composite gained 0.4% and South Korea's KOSPI climbed 0.4%.
US stocks ended higher on Friday as weak US jobs data dashed hopes of interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve going ahead.
The US government reported that employers unexpectedly cut 23,000 jobs last month.
S&P 500 index rose 0.62%, Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3% and tech heavy Nasdaq surged 1.3%.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹480 crore on Friday while domestic institutional investors bought stocks worth ₹235.56 crore, as per NSE data.
FIIs have so far this month bought shares worth ₹12,921 crore, data from National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) showed.
The country's largest watch and jewellery retailer's revenue from operations increased 29% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹21,356 crore in the April-June period from ₹16,523 crore in the year-ago period.
For Q1 FY27, the consolidated total income came in at ₹20,753 crores, rising 40%, marking a strong start to the fiscal year and sustaining the growth momentum carried over from an exceptional FY26, the company said.
The company reported strong operational performance as its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 58% annually to ₹2,890 crore as against ₹1,830 crore in Q1 FY26.
The joint venture proposal of Dixon and Vivo was cleared by the government in the second week of July. The two companies signed a term sheet on December 15, 2024, to form the joint venture.
