The equity benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY50 continued to advance in the afternoon session on Friday, July 4, as investors remained hopeful after the Indian commerce ministry team reached Washington for another round of talks with the US on the proposed bilateral trade agreement.

The market sentiment was boosted after India’s retail inflation eased to 2.10% in June, the lowest year-on-year rise in consumer prices since January 2019.

At 1:15 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was up 361 points, or 0.44%, at the 82,614.46 level, while NSE’s NIFTY50 was trading at the 25,204.50 level, rising 122.20 points, or 0.49%.

Hero MotoCorp was the most contributing stock, gaining 4.33%, followed by Sun Pharma (2.54%), Bajaj Auto (2.15%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.6%), and Tata Motors (1.43%).

Hero MotoCorp

Shares of two-three-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp surged over 4.6% to hit an intraday high of ₹6,246.25 apiece on the NSE as the company’s chairman Pawan Munjal said it is accelerating global expansion and plans to extend its presence into Germany, France, Spain, and the UK in the second quarter of 2025-26.

Last seen, the stock was trading at ₹4,437.10 per share, jumping 4.36%.

In his address to shareholders in the company's annual report for 2024-25, Munjal said Hero MotoCorp is "investing in the future—India and beyond," and through the company's own platforms, including "the Hero for Startups" initiative, it is mentoring next-generation entrepreneurs, offering them R&D access, and opening pathways to market.

Commenting on the overall international market expansion, he said, "In FY 2024-25, we achieved 43% YoY growth in international markets from South Asia to Latin America through a sharp focus on customer experience, quality, and scale."

Sun Pharmaceutical

The drugmaker’s shares on Tuesday were one of the top contributors on the NIFTY50 index. At the time of writing the article, Sun Pharma shares were trading at ₹1,725.70 apiece, surging 2.56%.

The company on Monday said it has inked a settlement pact with US-based Incyte Corporation regarding Leqselvi, a drug used for severe hair loss.

Under the terms of the agreement, the parties will seek dismissal of the pending Leqselvi litigation in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, and Sun and Incyte will mutually release each other of all claims that were raised or could have been raised in that litigation, the Mumbai-based drug major said in a statement.

Bank of Maharashtra

The PSU bank shares gained nearly 3% to an intraday high of ₹57.64 apiece after it reported a 23.14% surge in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹1,593.09 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26. Its profit after tax stood at ₹1,293.69 crore in the year-ago period.

Its net interest income (NII) advanced 17.57% to ₹3,292 crore in the latest April-June quarter as against ₹2,800 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Last seen, shares of Bank of Maharashtra were trading at ₹57.15 apiece, rising 1.91%.

Waaree Energies

In a regulatory filing, Waaree Renewable had said its Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, July 17, 2025, to consider and approve the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.

For Q4 FY25, Waaree Energies’ net profit grew over two-fold to ₹648.49 crore, supported by higher revenues. The company's revenue for the quarter stood at ₹4,140.92 crore, a growth of 37.69% year-on-year.

At the time of writing the piece, the stock was trading at ₹3,240.20 per share, rising 1.35%.

Ola Electric

Shares of Ola Electric Mobility slipped over 5% on Tuesday, July 15, to touch an intraday low of ₹44.60 apiece on the National Stock Exchange—a day after the electric vehicle maker announced its June quarter earnings.

Bhavish Aggarwal-led firm had reported a consolidated net loss of ₹428 crore for the April-June quarter of the financial year 2025-26 on Monday. It had reported a net loss of ₹347 crore in the same period last year.

Last seen, the stock was trading at ₹45.33 per share, tumbling 3.70% on NSE. Ola shares have lost 70% so far from their 52-week high of ₹157.40.

In an earnings call post the results, Bhavish Aggarwal said the company expects its auto business to be free cash positive by the end of fiscal year 2026.

Tejas Networks

Tata Group firm Tejas Networks shares touched their 52-week low on Tuesday after the company reported a consolidated loss of ₹193.87 crore in the first quarter ended June 2025, mainly due to a decline in sales.

The company, which supplied 4G gears to state-owned BSNL, had posted a profit of ₹77.48 crore a year ago.

The consolidated revenue of Tejas Networks plunged about 87% to ₹202 crore during the reported quarter from ₹1,563 crore in the June 2024 quarter.

Last seen, the stock was trading at ₹655.25 apiece, declining 6.18%.

HCL Technologies

Shares of HCL Technologies declined on Tuesday, a day after the company released the latest set of numbers for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26.

The company recorded a 9.72% fall in its consolidated net profit (attributable to owners of the company) at ₹3,843 crore in the latest June quarter as compared to ₹4,257 crore in the year-ago period. Sequentially, the profit fell 10.77%.

Revenue from operations stood at ₹30,349 crore in Q1 FY26, up 8.16% from ₹28,057 crore in the June quarter of FY25. Sequentially, it rose 0.34%.

Shares of HCLTech slipped over 4% to touch an intraday low of ₹1,555 apiece on NSE. In the afternoon session, the stock was seen at ₹1,572.0 per share, falling 2.9%.
