Shares of cigarette maker Godfrey Phillips India rose over 9% to hit an intraday high of ₹3,720 on NSE.
Kotak Mahindra Bank was the most contributing stock, gaining 2.66%, followed by Axis Bank (1.82%), Larsen & Toubro (1.78%), Bharti Airtel (1.73%) and JSW Steel (1.23%).
Shares of cigarette maker Godfrey Phillips India rose over 9% to hit an intraday high of ₹3,720 on NSE. On the BSE, Godfrey Phillips shares surged as much as 9.25%. The stock started trading ex-bonus in a ratio of 2:1 on Tuesday.
On August 4, the company had fixed September 16 as the record date for recognising shareholders eligible for receiving bonus shares. The post-bonus issue paid-up share capital will be ₹3,119.64 lakh divided into 15,598,1760 shares of ₹2 each, Godfrey Phillips said.
As per the corporate action announced last month, the existing shareholders of Godfrey Phillips on the record date will get two bonus shares of face value of ₹2 each for every one share held on the record date.
At 12:29 PM, the stock was trading at ₹3,678, rising 7.86%.
Shares of NCC Ltd advanced as much as 4.81% to ₹222.31 apiece on the NSE, following an order win the company announced on Monday.
In its exchange filing, NCC Ltd said that the company has received a letter dated September 15, 2025, from the Water Resources Department, Bihar, for the construction of the Barner Reservoir Scheme in the Jamui district. The contract value is approx. ₹2,090.5 crore (excluding GST).
NCC Ltd (NCC) is a construction and infrastructure development company involved in a wide range of activities, including buildings, transportation, water and environment, electrical transmission and distribution, irrigation, mining, and railway projects.
At the time of writing the piece, shares of the firm were trading at ₹215.85, gaining 1.77%.
Suzlon Energy shares surged over 2% to an intraday high of ₹59.28 apiece as the firm bagged its largest order for the financial year 2025-26 on Tuesday, September 16.
The renewable energy firm bagged an 838 MW order with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) as part of its Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project.
This is also Suzlon’s second-largest order ever, following the 1,544 MW order from NTPC Green Energy, and demonstrates the growing role of FDRE projects in accelerating India’s energy transition, the company said.
At 12:30 PM, shares of Suzlon Energy were trading at ₹59.14 apiece, gaining 1.84%.
Larsen & Toubro shares rallied 2% to an intraday high of ₹3,655.50 apiece on the NSE after the infrastructure major’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) business vertical secured a significant order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) for the 2X1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP - 5 & 6) in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
The order is worth around ₹2,500-5,000 crore. "The scope encompasses the mechanical package for the project, including installation of the nuclear reactor and turbine systems (with generator and condenser), seawater systems, polar and trestle cranes, and other related equipment," L&T said in a statement.
At 12:36 PM, shares of L&T were trading at ₹3,653.30 apiece on NSE, surging 1.87%. It was one of the top contributors on the NIFTY50 index.
NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) shares rose over 3% on Tuesday as the company’s arm started commercial production of 25 MW solar capacity in Gujarat on Monday, September 15.
With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group will increase to 7,272.575 MW.
"...part capacity of 25 MW solar out of the total installed capacity of 150 MW solar project located in Bhuj, Gujarat, of Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Ltd is declared on commercial operation w.e.f. 03.09.2025," NGEL said in an exchange filing.
Ayana Renewable Power Four Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd.
At 12:39 PM, the company shares were trading at ₹105.40 apiece, rising 1.78%.
Shares of Zydus Lifesciences were trading lower on NSE on Tuesday despite the company’s step-down subsidiary launching two products a day prior.
While the stock was trading in the positive territory during the morning’s session, at the time of writing, it was trading 0.04% lower at ₹1,036.50 per equity share.
In a regulatory filing on Monday, the drugmaker announced that ZyVet Animal Health released the first FDA-approved phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride tablets, a treatment for managing urinary incontinence in dogs. It also launched the generic form of furosemide tablets, a critical therapy for managing congestive heart failure and chronic fluid retention in dogs and cats.
Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride is commonly prescribed to treat urinary incontinence in dogs due to urethral sphincter hypotonus. Often seen in spayed females and ageing dogs, urethral sphincter hypotonus can lead to frustrating and embarrassing accidents, the filing stated.
Shares of the telecom operator Vodafone Idea declined nearly 4% on Tuesday as the share witnessed profit booking after rising 9.6% in a week.
Intraday, the stock fell as much as 3.93% to ₹7.82 on NSE. At 12:43 PM, it was down 1.35% to ₹8.03 per share.
On Monday, it had settled 6.26% higher after reports suggested that the telecom firm’s case against the Department of Telecom over additional AGR dues in the Supreme Court is tentatively scheduled for hearing on September 19.
The debt-laden telecom company had moved to the Supreme Court last week seeking reassessment of additional adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues. The case is likely to be heard on Friday.
