Although today’s special one-hour Muhurat trading session was more of a long-standing ritual among traders to pay respect to Goddess Lakshmi, investors were also focused on long-term investment opportunities, shifting their money into defensive sectors amid the global market volatility.

Friday’s provisional FII inflow data showed that foreign investors purchased ₹13,749.82 crore worth of capital market assets in a single day on Nov 6, while domestic investors remained booking profits in the market.

After an already six-day streak as of Friday, investors questioned the sustainability of continued FII flows into Indian equities.

So far, FIIs have invested ₹38,971 crore in the Indian equity market since the beginning of November 2026, reversing their 2-month selling streak, as the global AI trade reversal steered global investors away from tech and AI stocks in developed markets, according to NSDL data.

Despite the NIFTY50 failing to sustain the 25,000 levels, the data showed that the index has delivered 8.3% returns to investors in the last five trading sessions.
