SUMMARY
NIFTY50 and SENSEX have seen high volatility in 2026 amid the US-Iran war, rising crude oil prices, and FII selling. Both benchmark indices are down nearly 9% year-to-date. Despite weak market sentiment, some stocks like Fineotex Chemical, Indiabulls Limited, and PC Jeweller have outperformed the benchmark indices and rose over 50% YTD

Stock priced under ₹100 allow investors with limited capital to purchase a greater number of shares.
NIFTY50, SENSEX and other broader market indices have faced selling pressure so far in 2026. NIFTY50 is down nearly 9% and hit a 52-week low of 22,179 in October 2026. Meanwhile, SENSEX has declined over 8,300 points or 9.7% year-to-date.
Domestic markets have faced selling pressure amid multiple headwinds, as geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran continue to create weak sentiment among investors. Besides this, a surge in crude oil prices, FII sell-off, and surging US bond yields have also impacted markets.
Despite persistent selling in the broader markets, some stocks have still managed to outperform the benchmark NIFTY50 index. Stocks Fineotex Chemical (current price: ₹49.1 apiece) delivered nearly a 100% return to investors this year. Other stocks under ₹100 per share have also performed well.
| Stock name | Stock price* | YTD return | 3-year return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fineotex Chemical | ₹49.1 | 99.3% | 65.9% |
| Filatex India | ₹88.7 | 82.1% | 94.6% |
| Indiabulls Limited | ₹30.01 | 74.6% | 197.1% |
| PC Jeweller | ₹14.7 | 54.1% | 392.3% |
| Paramount Communications | ₹61.7 | 55.7% | - 3.7% |
As seen from the above table, companies from diverse industries like chemical, specialised cable maker, gold and diamond jewellery maker have risen between 55% and 99.3% so far this year.
Behind these gains are multiple positive developments within the businesses, like Fineotex expanding its US operations, PC Jeweller repaying its bank borrowings, and Paramount reporting stronger sales and profitability. Interestingly, all these stocks are trading below ₹100 per share.
Many first-time investors with limited capital who want to test the stock market investment generally get attracted towards stocks priced under ₹100. Why so?
A low share price allows investors with small or limited capital to purchase a greater number of shares. An investor with a limited budget of, say, ₹10,000 can buy shares across multiple companies priced under ₹100 rather than owning just one or two shares of a high-priced blue-chip stock, helping him to spread risk across sectors and multiple stocks.
In December 2025, Fineotex Chemical acquired a 53.33% stake in CrudeChem to kick off 2026 with a bigger operation in the United States. CrudeChem manufactures speciality chemicals used in the oil and gas industry and will help further build the speciality-chemicals firm's business in the oilfield. Many consider this US acquisition game changing as the company gets entry into the lucrative North American oilfield and hydraulic fracturing chemical market.
Besides this, Fineotex Chemical reported robust quarterly earnings as consolidated net profit rose 92.6% YoY to Rs.₹48.2 crore in Q1FY27, while revenue increased 174.8% YoY to ₹376.6 crore. Net profit margin stood at 12.8%, compared with 18.3% a year earlier. EBITDA, excluding other income, grew 134.7% to Rs. 59.1 crore.
The company reported consolidated net profit increased 19.3% YoY to ₹48.5 crore in the June quarter, lifting its net profit margin to 4.2% from 3.9% a year earlier. Revenue grew 9.1% YoY to ₹1,145.3 crore. EBITDA, excluding other income, increased 15.6% to ₹78.4 crore, while its margin improved to 6.8% from 6.5%.
Indiabulls Limited shares have seen a massive turnaround in recent months. The stock has risen 237% from its 52-week low of ₹8.9 per share following the completion of major corporate reorganisation under which multiple group entities like Dhani Services, Indiabulls Enterprises and others merged into a single entity with core business interests in real estate and financial services.
The company has planned five property-project launches in FY27 with a potential sales value of ₹8,014 crore, which is the gross development value of the property-project.
The company issued warrants in September to raise ₹1,000 crore (on full conversion) with an upfront payment of ₹250 crore. It also announced it would acquire a 70% stake in a loan-servicing provider to non-banking lenders, Fintech Cloud, for ₹1,050 crore.
Indiabulls reported a consolidated net profit of ₹141 crore in the June quarter, against a loss of ₹1.8 crore in a year-ago period. Total income increased to ₹384.4 crore from ₹103.2 crore, with a net profit margin of 36.7%, calculated on total income. The quarter’s income included ₹125.1 crore of net fair-value gains.
PC Jeweller shares have also seen a massive turnaround as the stock rose over 96% from its 52-week low of ₹7.47 per share after balance sheet cleanup, as the company repaid its debt to 14 banks in its lending consortium in advance of the settlement schedule, with the fund-raise entailing preferential allotment of up to ₹500 crore worth of shares and warrants. The company expects its interest costs to decline materially in H2FY27.
On the financial side, consolidated net profit rose 57.8% YoY to ₹330.7 crore in the September quarter, while revenue increased 27.8% YoY to ₹1,054.5 crore. Its net profit margin improved to 31.4% from 25.4% a year earlier. It plans to open up to 100 new large-format showrooms in the next 12–18 months, through a mix of company-owned and franchise stores.
Paramount Communications, which trades around ₹61.7 apiece, has seen strong investor interest following robust quarterly earnings and order book expansion. The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹24.2 crore in the September quarter, up 82.9% YoY. Revenue increased 30.9% to ₹560.4 crore.
The company’s order book stood at approximately ₹731 crore as of September 30, 2026. Export sales were ₹158.1 crore in the September quarter.
All five stocks have delivered over 50% returns so far this year. This strong performance highlights how individual companies can deliver strong returns even when broader market indices remain under pressure. These stocks have benefited from company-specific developments such as US acquisitions, corporate restructuring, debt reduction, capital expenditure, and improving earnings.
However, their recent rallies do not necessarily indicate that stocks are undervalued or will continue to outperform. Investors should not rely solely on a stock price below ₹100; they should also check key company-specific metrics like earnings growth, debt levels, cash flows, and business prospects before making investment decisions.
