L&T shares rise nearly 4% amid renewed hopes of US-Iran peace deal

Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) rose as much as 3.82% to their day's high of ₹4,009.8 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, June 12, amid renewed hopes of a possible deal between the United States and Iran.

The stock was trading 2.56% higher at ₹3,960.90 per unit at 9:39 am.

The scrip had hit its 52-week high of ₹4,440 per share on February 24, 2026, while its 52-week low of ₹3,288.10 apiece was recorded on March 23, 2026.

In the past week, the stock has gained 0.13% and 2.68% in a month. Year-to-date, it has slipped 4.36%.

The Middle East is a critical market for the EPC major as it accounted for nearly 36% of its's total order book in 2026, Moneycontrol had reported.
Taking to Truth Social, US President Donald Trump hinted that a peace deal with Iran could be announced soon. He also announced that the US has called off the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran.

"Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening," Trump said.

"Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others. The Naval Blockade will remain in full force and effect until this Transaction is finalized — Time and place of the signing to be announced shortly," he added.

Meanwhile, global oil benckmark brent crude was trading 1.07% lower at USD 89.41 per barrel in futures trade.

On the domestic equity market front, SENSEX climbed 921.30 points to 74,753.85, while NIFTY50 surged 254.20 points to 23,417.25.

The S&P 500 settled 1.7% higher, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1.9%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.54%.
