Jindal Saw, IIFL Finance, NCC shares surge amid spike in trading activity; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks were trading on a flat note in afternoon trading as gains in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Power Grid, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharat Electronics and Larsen & Toubro were offset by losses in Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Interglobe Aviation, ITC and State Bank of India.

As of 1:45 pm, the SENSEX was down 13 points at 77,525 and NIFTY50 index unchanged at 24,230.

Here are stocks witnessing heavier than usual trading volumes:
JBM Auto: Shares of the Gurugram-based automobile maker rose as much as 9.89% to hit an intraday high of ₹685 after a report by The Economic Times suggested that Bain Capital will buy a significant minority stake in the electric vehicle manufacturing unit of JBM Auto. People familiar with the matter told ET that this will provide growth capital support to the company and accelerate its efforts to transform from a traditional auto parts maker to a fully fledged clean energy mobility platform.

The US-based PE firm is looking to invest up to ₹2,850 crore in the JBM unit, though negotiations are underway to finalise the size of the stake and deal structure, the report said.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 66.7 times to 1.06 crore shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) compared with an average volume of 1.59 lakh shares.

Welspun Corp: Shares of the iron an steel pipes maker advanced as much as 17% to hit an intraday high of ₹2,349 after the company said that it secured its biggest order.

The company, in its filing to exchanges, said it has secured the largest single order in its history — valued at approx $1.8 billion (~₹17,200 Crore) — for the supply of pipes from its manufacturing facility in the United States of America.

“This record-breaking order is the single largest ever awarded to the Company and marks a defining milestone in its global growth trajectory, reaffirming its leadership position as a trusted, large-scale partner to the global energy and infrastructure sector,” the company said.

The order will be executed between FY 2027-28 & FY 2028-29.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 23 times to 1.58 crore shares compared with an average volume of 6.86 lakh shares.

Jindal Saw: Shares of the iron and steel products maker advanced as much as 9.24% to hit an intraday high of ₹294.50 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 14.6 times to 93.94 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 6.44 lakh shares.

As many as 4.67 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 98,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

NCC: Shares of the civil construction company advanced as much as 7.92% to hit an intraday high of ₹151 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume jumped by 12.7 times to 1.72 crore shares compared with an average volume of 13.46 lakh shares.

As many as 13.11 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 1.61 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

IIFL Finance: Shares of the non-banking finance company rose as much as 7.85% to hit an intraday high of ₹687 after the company said that Brickwork Ratings India Private Limited (BWR), the credit rating agency, has reaffirmed it’s rating as BWR AA+/Stable for Non-Convertible Debentures amounting to ₹3,022.04 crore, BWR AA/Stable for Perpetual Debt Instrument (“PDI”) amounting to ₹850 crore and has assigned rating BWR AA/Stable for Proposed PDI amounting to ₹300 crore of IIFL Finance.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 8.2 times to 96.57 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 11.77 lakh shares.
