HEG shares surge 13% as net profit grows 16%; everything investors need to know from Q1 FY27 earnings

Shares of HEG jumped as much as 13% to an intraday high level of ₹675.90 apiece on Thursday, July 23, after the company reported a positive quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27).

The country's leading graphite electrodes firm reported a growth of 16% in its consolidated net profit at ₹122 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to ₹743 crore in the same period last year. 

The company’s revenue from operations increased 11% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹681 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹613 crore in the June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹151 crore in Q1 FY27 as compared to ₹150 crore in the year-ago period.

The EBITDA margin, however, contracted to 22.17% in the reporting quarter, in contrast to 24.47% in Q1 FY26.

Furthermore, HEG Limited said that its board has noted the company’s application to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) for reservation of the proposed new name, “HEG Advanced Materials Limited,” as part of the plan to change its name from HEG Limited.

The firm added that the proposed name has been reserved by the MCA for a period of 60 days from the date of approval.

The company further stated that its post-restructuring focus, which was earlier described broadly as “Greentech,” has been re-evaluated to better align with its core strengths in advanced manufacturing, specialised capabilities and value-added materials.

It added that the proposed name is intended to more accurately reflect its business profile, long-term strategic direction and corporate identity for customers, investors and other stakeholders globally.

HEG share price trends

At 12:05 PM, HEG shares were trading at ₹639.1 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 6.72%.

From the beginning of the year, HEG shares have advanced 2.4%. Over a month’s time, the stock has surged 20%, while it climbed 21% in the past six months.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹690 on April 29, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹459.80 on August 29, 2025.

According to NSE data, as of July 23, 2026, HEG has a total market capitalisation of ₹12,338.02 crore.

HEG Limited is a leading manufacturer of graphite products, which accounts for 80% of its revenue. HEG has the largest integrated graphite plant in the world, located at Mandideep near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The plant has an annual capacity of 100,000 MT of UHP-grade electrodes.
