Exide Industries to infuse up to ₹200 crore in Exide Energy Solutions; stock up 28% so far this year

Share price details: Exide Industries on Tuesday, August 18, said it has infused an additional ₹200 crore into its wholly owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions.

The latest infusion follows the company’s January 30 approval to invest an additional ₹1,400 crore in Exide Energy for setting up a greenfield, multi-gigawatt lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility in India in one or more tranches.

“In this connection, we wish to inform you that the Company on 18th August 2026, has invested Rs. 1,999,999,995/- (Rupees one hundred and ninety-nine crore ninety-nine lakh ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-five only) by way of subscription in the equity share capital EESL, on rights basis,” Exide Industries said in a regulatory filing.

With this investment, the total fund infusion made by the company in EESL stands at ₹5,102.23 crore.

However, the company said that there is no change in the shareholding percentage of the company in EESL pursuant to such an acquisition.

Exide Industries Q1 earnings

The auto components and equipment-making firm reported a 28% surge in its consolidated net profit at ₹350 crore for Q1 FY27 as against ₹745 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s revenue from operations increased 18% in the April-June period to ₹5,528 crore as compared to ₹4,695 crore on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.

On the operational front, Exide Industries’ earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation & amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter grew 15% to ₹621 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹538 crore in the corresponding quarter for the previous fiscal year.

The EBITDA margin for the quarter, however, contracted marginally to 11.23% in the reporting quarter in contrast to 11.46% YoY.

Exide Industries said it has reported broad-based growth momentum in Q1 FY27, with all major businesses recording double-digit YoY growth.

Exide Industries share price trends

On Tuesday, Exide Industries shares settled at ₹465.25 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 2.2%.

From the beginning of the year, Exide Industries shares have jumped 28%. Over a month’s time, the stock has gained 6.5%, while it has surged 36% in the past six months.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹496.40 on August 11, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹287 on March 30, 2026.

According to NSE data, as of August 18, 2026, Exide Industries has a total market capitalisation of ₹39,537.75 crore.
