The stock settled 1.82% lower at ₹3,291.10 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The scrip has descended 6% in the past week and 9.78% in a month. Year-to-date, it rose 25.23%.

The stock had hit its 52-week high of ₹4,446.80 per share on May 27, 2026, while its year's low of ₹2,021.50 apiece was recorded on September 26, 2025.

The decline in BSE shares comes after a Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the matter, claimed that NSE may allow its equity shares to trade on its own platform after debuting on BSE.

Under the proposal, NSE scrip could trade in the "permitted to trade" framework, which allows securities to trade on the National Stock Exchange without being formally listed.

This move could lead to a shift in trading volumes and would allow the stock to be listed in NSE's benchmark indexes, Bloomberg reported, quoting people familiar with the matter.

Discussions are underway, and any such move would depend on regulatory and other approvals.

Meanwhile, NSE is expected to receive market regulator SEBI's nod by the end of August to launch the initial public offering.

BSE shares plunge 6% in a week

According to news reports, Jefferies stated that BSE trades at 44x 1-year forward EPS.

The exchange's revenues from domestic proprietary traders, which constitute around 50% of notional turnover, could be at risk because of headwinds from the securities transaction tax hike, RBI bank guarantee norms, and the Closing Auction Session (CAS).

It should be noted that BSE's options ADTO (Average Daily Turnover) MTD (Month to Date) in the latest August month is down 12% vs July 2026.
