Block deals continued to hog the limelight on Dalal Street on Thursday, June 12, as a slew of large transactions took place in the pre-open window. On the NSE, four companies, namely, Asian Paints, Eternal, Bajaj Finance and Schaeffler India, witnessed block deals worth ₹8,060.05 crore.

Asian Paints
Shares of Asian Paints soared almost 2.45% to an intraday high of ₹2263 apiece on the National Stock Exchange following a large block deal.

NSE data showed that as many as 3.50 crore shares worth ₹7,703 crore changed hands at ₹2,201 per share in the block deal window before the opening bell.

Asian Paints shares have remained muted for a long time. Data show that the stock has risen nearly 35% in the past five years (as of Wednesday's close). In the past 12 months, the stock has slipped 24%. Further, so far in 2025 (YTD), the stock price of the paint major has fallen over 4%.

In the past six months, the stock has shed over 7.6% of its value, and in the past one month, it has slipped over 6%.

Last seen, shares of Asian Paints were trading at ₹2,244.40 apiece on NSE, rising 1.61%. It was the top contributor on the NIFTY50 index.

Eternal

Zomato-parent Eternal’s shares tanked 1.6% on Thursday following a block deal. According to the NSE data, as many as 60.93 lakh shares worth ₹156.65 crore changed hands in the block deal window.

Shares of the food delivery firm touched an intraday low of ₹252.98 apiece on the NSE. At 11:50 AM, the stock was down 1.46% at ₹253.32 per share.

Eternal shares have been under pressure in the last few sessions as a report suggested that Rapido will enter the food delivery services in Bengaluru by the end of this month.
Bajaj Finance

Bajaj Finance shares were trading marginally higher on Thursday after its 175,000 shares changed hands in block deals at ₹9,519 apiece. The deal size was worth ₹166.58 crore, NSE data showed.

Last seen, shares of Bajaj Finance were trading at ₹9,440 apiece, rising 0.16%.

Bajaj Finance had reported a net profit of ₹4,480 crore in the January-March quarter, marking an upside of 17% from ₹3,824.53 crore in the same period last year.

Total income during January-March of 2024-25 rose to ₹15,808 crore against ₹12,764 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.

Schaeffler India
Counter of Schaeffler India on Thursday witnessed 79,559 shares changing hands at ₹4,188.40 apiece. NSE data showed that the block deal was worth ₹33.32 crore.

Following this, shares of the auto component maker were trading at ₹4198.9 apiece, inching up by 0.25% on NSE.

Others
There were also reports of PhonePe Ltd launching a block deal to sell 5% equity in CE Info Systems, also known as MapmyIndia, for ₹476.2 crore.
The floor price of the deal is said to be ₹1,750 per share, which is a 10.4% discount to CE Infosystems' last closing price, said a report by CNBC-TV18. Read more
