BEML shares tank 8% as Q4 net profit dips 36% YoY; check all numbers, dividend details

BEML shares tumbled 8% to an intraday low of ₹1,693 apiece on Friday, May 29, after it reported a 37.5% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹180 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. In the corresponding quarter last year, the company had posted a net profit of ₹288 crore.

The company’s revenue from operations increased 8.5% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,794 crore as compared to ₹1,653 crore in Q4 FY25. This was the highest-ever quarterly revenue, BEML said.

On the operational level, BEML’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹271 crore, marking a decline of 36% from ₹424 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The company’s EBITDA margin contracted to 15.1% in contrast to 25.6% YoY.

The Bengaluru-headquartered company’s board of directors declared a second interim dividend of ₹2.30 per equity share of face value ₹5 each (46%) and has also recommended a final dividend of ₹0.55 per equity share (11%) for the financial year.

BEML said it has reported the highest-ever annual revenue of ₹4,351 crore for FY26, marking a growth of 8.16% annually. The company also recorded its highest-ever Value of Production (VOP) at ₹4,239 crore, up 8.58% YoY.

Capital expenditure during the year reached an all-time high of ₹379 crore, including CWIP of ₹191 crore. The company’s research and development (R&D) investment rose sharply by 150% to ₹251 crore, with R&D spend increasing to 6.25% of revenue compared to 2.57% in the previous year.

As of March 31, 2026, BEML said it has achieved the highest-ever closing order book position of ₹15,896 crore.

At 3 PM, BEML shares were trading at ₹1,751.7 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 4.41%.

Shares of the firm have lost 5% over a month, while they have slipped 4% in the past six months. From the beginning of the year, shares of BEML have declined 6%.

The company has a market capitalisation of ₹14,536.43 crore.

Shares of the company had touched their one-year high of ₹2,437.40 apiece on June 23, 2025, while their 52-week low of ₹1,355 was hit on March 30, 2026.

Established in 1964, BEML Limited is an Indian Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence. It manufactures heavy equipment for three core sectors: defence & aerospace, mining & construction, and rail & metro.
