Acme Solar shares jump over 7% as the renewable energy firm launches its QIP with floor price of ₹294.13 per share

Acme Solar shares opened sharply lower on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 after the renewable energy firm launched its qualified institutional placement (QIP). Acme Solar shares declined over 3.1% in opening trade and hit a day low of ₹297.6 apiece on NSE. However, the stock saw turnaround in later half of the trading session and traded over7% higher.

Acme Solar Holdings kick started its QIP today after the company’s board approval. The floor price of the QIP issue was set at ₹294.13 per share, which is a discount of 4.2% compared to previous day closing of ₹307.20 on NSE. According to CNBC-TV18, the company aims to raise up to ₹2,800 crore through this QIP, which comprises base issue size of ₹2,600 crore, along with a greenshoe option of ₹200 crore.

The company will use net proceeds from the QIP towards debt repayment and for general corporate purposes.

What is Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP)?

Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) is a fundraising method used by listed companies in India to raise funds by issuing shares to qualified institutional buyers such as mutual funds, insurance companies, pension funds, and foreign institutional investors. QIP allows companies to raise capital quickly without going through lengthy regulatory procedures required for a public issue. Companies use QIP proceeds for multiple business-releted activities like expansion plans, reduce debt, strengthen their balance sheet, or finance acquisitions.

So far this year, Acme Solar Holdings shares have gained over 30%. Besides QIP launch, the company also informed exchange that its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Sun Power Private Limited has commissioned 33.333 MW/160.512 MWh capacity of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project located at Rajasthan on June 01, 2026.

With this, ACME Sun Power Private Limited has achieved a commissioned capacity of 266.669 MW / 1283.936 MWh.

Acme Solar Holdings Q4 earnings

ACME Solar Holdings posted a 13.3% YoY rise in net profit to ₹138 crore in the March quarter and a 30.7% increase in total revenue to ₹705 crore. The quarter was marked by the commissioning of India’s largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of 2.32 GWh
