Shares of temperature sensing and heating solutions provider Tempsens Instruments (India) Ltd made a solid debut on the stock exchanges on Friday, August 28.

The stock started trading at ₹634 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This reflects a premium of 111.33% over the IPO issue price of ₹300 per share.

On the BSE, it is listed at ₹631.20 per equity share, up 110.40% from the IPO issue price.

Tempsens Instruments share price: Here's how much investors made per lot

A lot consisted of 50 shares and cost ₹15,000. Investors who received Tempsens Instruments IPO allotment made ₹16,700 per lot, taking the value of their investment to ₹31,700, as per the listing price on the NSE.

The ₹650 crore initial public offering consisted of a fresh issuance of equity shares valued at ₹95 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of ₹555 crore.

Under the OFS, promoters Chandra Prakash Talesara, Amit Talesara and Puneet Talesara, along with other shareholders Ankit Talesara and Nirmal Kumar Pande offloaded their stake.

The fresh issue proceeds will be used to fund capital expenditure towards electrical heating and specialised cable solutions, debt clearance, general corporate purposes and cover issue expenses.

The initial share sale was subscribed 184.07 times, as it got bids for 2,79,44,59,050 shares against 1,51,81,667 shares on offer, according to the NSE data.

The quota reserved for non-institutional investors was subscribed 314.44 times. The category for qualified institutional buyers received 302.88 times subscription. The retail investors' part was booked 60.69 times.

Prior to the IPO, the company mobilised ₹194.5 crore from anchor investors, including Ashoka WhiteOak ICAV – Ashoka WhiteOak Emerging Markets Equity Fund, Singaporean Temasek Holdings-owned Aranda Investments, Axis Max Life Insurance, Kotak Mahindra Life, Goldman Sachs, HDFC AMC, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, Kotak Mahindra AMC, Nippon Life India, Tata Mutual Fund and Edelweiss, among others.

Tempsens Instruments (India) Ltd, incorporated in 1990, manufactures various contact and non-contact temperature sensors and offers customised solutions across industrial applications.
