The initial public offering of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE) opened for subscription on Thursday, September 17. The issue will end on September 21.

The ₹22,561.57 crore initial share sale, with a price band of ₹1,700 to ₹1,785 per share, is only an offer for sale (OFS) of 12.64 crore shares. There is no fresh issue component.

Under the OFS route, State Bank of India, SBI Capital Markets, MS Strategic (Mauritius), Aranda Investments (Mauritius), New India Assurance Company, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Stock Holding Corporation of India, United India Insurance Company, General Insurance Corporation of India and Bank of Baroda will offload their stake.

NSE IPO Day 1: Subscription status

The issue has been subscribed 23% so far on the first day of bidding on Thursday. It received bids for 2,04,26,752 shares compared to 8,86,42,911 shares on offer, according to the NSE data until 12:01 pm.

Prior to the IPO, the company fetched ₹6,746 crore from anchor investors, including Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Goldman Sachs, Fidelity, GIC Singapore, Norges Bank, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), HSBC Global Asset Management, Eastspring, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), HDFC MF, Nippon India MF, Axis MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Kotak MF, SBI Mutual Fund and SBI General Insurance, among others.

According to a circular uploaded on the BSE website, NSE allotted more than 3.77 crore equity shares to 150 anchor investors at ₹1,785 per unit. This takes the transaction size to ₹6,746.2 crore.
