IRCTC Q1 results

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) reported a 32.5% jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹307.7 crore for the June quarter of financial year 2024-25.

In the year-ago period, the company had reported a net profit of ₹232.2 crore.

Revenue from operations increased 11.8% to ₹1,120.1 crore in Q1 FY25, compared to ₹1,001.7 crore a year earlier.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) surged 9.3% to ₹375 crore in the latest April-June quarter as against ₹343 crore in Q1 FY24. The margin also increased to 33.5% vs 34.2% in same period last fiscal.

IRCTC's shares down

Shares of IRCTC settled 0.6% lower at ₹918 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹73,440 crore.

The internet ticketing contributed ₹329 crore to IRCTC's revenue, up 13.4% year-on-year (YoY). The catering and rail neer reported a revenue of ₹558.8 crore (+17.1% YoY) and ₹111.4 (+16.1% YoY), respectively.

IRCTC is the only company the Government of India authorised to provide online ticketing, catering and packaged drinking water at railway stations and trains. It is operated under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways.
