Cummins India Q1 FY27 results: Net profit declines 8% YoY; Shveta Arya resigns as Managing Director

Q1 FY27 earnings: Cummins India on Wednesday, August 5, reported a standalone net profit of ₹543 crore in the April-June quarter, registering an 8% decline from ₹589 crore during the same period last year.

The power solutions provider’s total revenue from operations, including the sale from operations and other operating income, surged 18% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹3,426 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹2,907 crore in the year-ago period.

Cummins’ operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), slipped nearly 2% YoY to ₹617 crore as compared to ₹624 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Its operating profit margin, also known as EBITDA margin, contracted to 18.01% in the reporting quarter from 21.45% in the year-ago period.

Managing Director resigns

In a separate regulatory filing, Cummins India said Shveta Arya has resigned as Managing Director, Director and key managerial personnel of the company to pursue external opportunities.

Arya was appointed as Managing Director with effect on September 1, 2024, for a term of three years.

“I hereby tender my resignation as Managing Director and Director of Cummins India Limited ("the Company"), with effect from August 31, 2026, to pursue external opportunities,” Shveta Arya said in her resignation letter.

Cummins India said the Board, at its meeting held on August 5, 2026, noted and accepted the resignation and placed on record its deep appreciation and gratitude for her leadership and valuable contributions.

The company also said that it is currently evaluating suitable candidates for the aforesaid position and will inform the stock exchanges upon completion of the appointment process.

Cummins India share price trends

On Wednesday, Cummins India shares closed at ₹5,440 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 1.98%. The earnings, however, came after the market hours.

Over a month’s time, the stock has fallen 3%, while it has rallied 23% in the past six months. From the beginning of the year, shares of Cummins India have jumped 21%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹6,100 on May 29, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹3,494.20 on August 5, 2025.

As of August 5, 2026, the company has a total market capitalisation of ₹1.51 lakh crore, according to data on the NSE.
