According to an official statement, PM Modi will transfer more than ₹18,880 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore farmers across the country.

Over 2.18 crore women farmers will also receive benefits under the latest instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare with support from the West Bengal government, will be held at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district.

With the release of the 23rd instalment, the cumulative disbursement under the PM-KISAN scheme will exceed ₹4.46 lakh crore since its launch on February 24, 2019, the ministry said.

In West Bengal, more than 45.35 lakh farmers will receive over ₹907.21 crore under the latest instalment, taking the total disbursement in the state to more than ₹15,055 crore since 2019.

The ministry said more than one crore farmers are expected to join the programme virtually through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), ICAR institutes, universities, farmer producer organisations, agriculture mandis, PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, cooperative societies and local-level functions.

Special outreach programmes will be organised across states, districts, blocks and gram panchayats under the banner of "PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas" to raise awareness about various government schemes.

PM Modi will also launch and inaugurate a series of agriculture-related initiatives in West Bengal, including the rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) in the state.

The initiative aims to provide crop insurance coverage to nearly 1.10 crore farmers over about 30 lakh hectares during 2026-27, with an estimated insured value of ₹28,140 crore.

The Centre and the state government will provide premium subsidies of around ₹777 crore to keep farmers' contribution low.

The prime minister will also launch AgriStack in West Bengal under the Digital Agriculture Mission.

The platform is designed to provide farmers with access to services such as fertiliser distribution, Kisan Credit Cards, direct benefit transfers and procurement under the minimum support price system through a unified digital interface.

Modi will launch the National Mission on Natural Farming in the state. Under the approved action plan for 2026-27, West Bengal will set up 346 natural farming clusters covering 17,300 hectares and benefiting around 43,250 farmers.

The prime minister will also initiate implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) in Purulia, Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Jhargram.

Senior Union ministers and state leaders are expected to attend the event.
