The country's largest carmaker said it accounted for more than 55% of India's passenger vehicle exports during the quarter.

"Sustained focus on exports has earned the company the number one position in passenger vehicle exports from India. Illustrating this leadership, all three of India's top exported passenger vehicles in Q1 FY 26-27 were from Maruti Suzuki," company Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said in a statement.

The top three passenger vehicle export models in the first quarter of FY27 were Maruti Suzuki's FRONX, Jimny 5-Door and eVITARA, the company said.

Six Maruti Suzuki models featured among the top eight passenger vehicle models exported from India during the quarter.

Hyundai Grand i10 and Nissan Magnite ranked fourth and seventh, respectively, according to industry estimates.

The company also said its FRONX crossed the 2 lakh export milestone in under 38 months since exports began.

"Since FY 24-25, it has been India's number 1 exported passenger vehicle and is now shipped to nearly 90 countries. After crossing the milestone of 1 lakh exports in record time, FRONX reached its second lakh significantly faster, underlining its growing demand in the international markets," Takeuchi said.

Maruti Suzuki recently launched flex-fuel technology in the Wagon R, a brand which, it said, has “long pioneered alternate fuel vehicles in India, including CNG and LPG."

According to industry body SIAM, total passenger vehicle exports from India rose 8.8% to 2,22,392 units in April-June of FY27, from 2,04,330 units in the year-ago period.

Maruti Suzuki India's exports jumped 28.23% to 1,23,330 units in the first quarter of FY27, compared with 96,181 units in the corresponding period last fiscal.
