AMFI August 2025 Data: Gold ETF inflows jump 74%, large-cap funds up 33%

Inflows into gold ETFs jumped by as much as 74.3% to ₹2,189.51 crore in August amid soaring gold prices. Other ETFs also recorded significant growth of 61.8% in August, rising to ₹7,244.11 crore.

Total assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry declined marginally to ₹75.18 lakh crore in August.

Net inflows into equity mutual funds (MFs) in August fell by 21.7% to ₹33,430.37 crore from ₹42,702.35 crore in July, after two consecutive months of growth, according to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) released on Wednesday, September 10.

In the month of July, net inflows recorded a remarkable growth of 81%, while the gain was at 24% in June.

AMFI August Data: Key highlights

  • Inflows into small-cap funds decreased by 23% to ₹4,992.91 crore in August from ₹6,484.43 crore in July.

  • Large-cap funds, however, recorded a growth of 33%, reaching ₹2,834.88 crore in August against ₹2125.09 crore in July.

  • Mid-cap funds grew slightly by 2.8% to ₹5,330.62 crore in August from ₹5182.49 crore in July.

  • Inflows into gold ETFs jumped by as much as 74.3% to ₹2,189.51 crore in August amid soaring gold prices.

  • Other ETFs also recorded significant growth of 61.8% in August, rising to ₹7,244.11 crore.

  • In August, a total of 23 new fund offers were launched, raising ₹2,859 crore. This is a 90.6% decrease from ₹30,416 crore raised in July.

  • Hybrid scheme net inflows stood at ₹15,293.70 crore in August, down from ₹20,879.47 crore in July.

  • Inflows into sectoral/thematic funds saw a major drop, standing at ₹3,893.16 crore in August after increasing significantly to ₹9,426.03 crore in July.

  • Debt-oriented schemes recorded a net outflow of ₹7,979.84 crore after recording a significant net inflow of ₹1,06,801.23 crore in July.

  • Equity Linked Saving Schemes (ELSS) recorded an inflow of ₹59.15 crore in August against a net outflow of ₹368.18 crore recorded in July.
