1. What is Jeevan Pramaan (Digital Life Certificate - DLC)?

Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate for pensioners. It is generated using the pensioner’s Aadhaar number and biometric data (either iris or fingerprint).

The service eliminates the need for pensioners to visit Pension Disbursing Authorities personally, as the DLC is processed digitally and automatically shared with the authorities.

2. How is Jeevan Pramaan different from the traditional Life Certificate?
Unlike traditional life certificates, Jeevan Pramaan does not require the pensioner to physically submit the certificate to the Pension Disbursing Agency (e.g., Bank or Post Office). It is processed and stored electronically, with each certificate receiving a unique Pramaan-ID.
3. Who is eligible for Jeevan Pramaan?
  • Only pensioners whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is onboarded on the Jeevan Pramaan platform are eligible.

  • Remarried or re-employed pensioners are not eligible for this service.

4. What information is required to Generate Jeevan Pramaan?

To generate a Digital Life Certificate (DLC), the pensioner must provide:

Aadhaar Number

Name

Mobile Number

Pension-related information (PPO Number, Pension Account Number, Bank details, Name of Pension Sanctioning Authority, etc.)

Biometrics (either Iris or Fingerprint)

5. Do I have to submit the Jeevan Pramaan (DLC) to my bank/post office?

No, the Jeevan Pramaan (DLC) is automatically available to the Pension Disbursing Agency (bank, post office, etc.) electronically. There is no need for pensioners to submit it physically.

Special service for EPFO pensioners
In collaboration with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and EPFO, a doorstep service for Digital Life Certificate has been launched for EPFO pensioners under the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995.

This service, free of charge, allows pensioners to complete their life certificate verification from home using biometric authentication, without needing to visit banks or EPFO offices.
