If a Digital Life Certificate is rejected because of incorrect or mismatched information, the pensioner should contact the concerned Pension Disbursing Agency and check the details in its records.

Pensioners need to submit an annual Life Certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan, to continue receiving their pension without interruption. The submission window has traditionally been staggered by age, with pensioners aged 80 years and above getting an early opportunity to submit their certificate.

Who can submit Jeevan Pramaan in October?

Under the existing schedule, pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their annual Life Certificate from October 1, while pensioners below 80 generally submit it from November 1. The final deadline is November 30. The October 1 early window for pensioners aged 80 years and above has been followed in previous years.

What is Jeevan Pramaan?

Jeevan Pramaan is an Aadhaar-based, biometric-enabled Digital Life Certificate that allows eligible pensioners to complete their annual proof-of-life verification digitally instead of submitting a physical certificate to their Pension Disbursing Agency.

The facility is available to pensioners whose Pension Sanctioning Authority is onboarded on the Jeevan Pramaan platform. Pensioners who are re-employed or remarried are not eligible to use the Digital Life Certificate facility and need to follow the applicable conventional procedure.

How does Jeevan Pramaan work?

The Digital Life Certificate is generated after the pensioner's identity is authenticated using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication. Once generated, the certificate is stored in the Jeevan Pramaan repository and can be accessed electronically by the Pension Disbursing Agency.

Pensioners can generate the certificate through Jeevan Pramaan centres, including Common Service Centres, banks and government offices. The facility can also be used from home through the Jeevan Pramaan application and compatible devices that support the required authentication process.

Is Jeevan Pramaan valid for life?

No. The Digital Life Certificate is not valid for life. Its validity is determined by the rules of the relevant Pension Sanctioning Authority.

Once the validity period expires, the pensioner needs to submit a fresh Life Certificate. A new Pramaan ID is generated when a new Digital Life Certificate is successfully created.

What should pensioners keep ready?

Pensioners should keep their Aadhaar number, mobile number and pension-related details ready before generating the Digital Life Certificate. These may include the Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, pension account number and details of the pension-disbursing bank.

The pensioner also needs to complete the required authentication process, which may include fingerprint, iris or face authentication, depending on the method being used.

What if the Digital Life Certificate is rejected?

If a Digital Life Certificate is rejected because of incorrect or mismatched information, the pensioner should contact the concerned Pension Disbursing Agency and check the details in its records.

A fresh Digital Life Certificate can then be generated with the correct information, where required.

Pensioners should also check with their bank or Pension Disbursing Agency for any additional requirements before submitting their Life Certificate.
