How will the new Aadhaar app be beneficial for users?

Developed by UIDAI, the new Aadhaar app is a major upgrade for managing digital identity, prioritizing security, privacy, and offline usability. It does away with the need for physical photocopies and enables users to easily update information, manage profiles, and utilise QR codes for fast and secure identity verification.

Other benefits of the new Aadhaar app

  1. Data can be shared selectively: As aadhaar marks a crucial individual identity, now using the new app users will be able to selectively share only the required data, say for example their date or birth, photo etc. instead of the complete aadhaar number by using a safe QR.
  2. Offline functionality feature: Identity verification as well as eKYC process can be completed even in an offline mode (i.e. in areas with low internet connectivity etc.)
  3. Biometric locking/unlocking available: Using your smartphone, you can simply lock and unlock your biometrics, ensuring complete data security.
  4. Face authentication: New developed face authentication method render identity checks very effective and seamless.
  5. Update feature could be accessed on app itself: Doing away with the need of visiting aadhaar centres, the app provides a facility of making updates of different sorts such as photo, address etc. on the app itself.

So, by transitioning to the new Aadhaar app, users will be able to manage their digital identity better in a far-more secure and convenient way.
