UAN not authenticated via Aadhaar FAT? Here’s how to complete it through UMANG app for PMVBRY

Have you recently received a message from EPFO saying, “Dear Member, your UAN is not authenticated through Aadhaar Face Authentication (FAT). FAT is mandatory for PMVBRY benefits….” This article will guide you on how to complete the task using the UMANG app and also detail the PMVBRY benefits.

The process involves live scanning of the member’s face for verification of his/ her identity with the UIDAI. Nonetheless, before gearing up for the same, ensure that you have both UMANG and AadhaarFaceRD apps installed on your mobile phone.

1. Search for EPFO services on the UMANG app
2. Under the EPFO dashboard, go to the ‘UAN services through Face Auth’
3. Now you can select Face authentication of already activated UANs if your UAN is already activated
4. The face scan will start on its own, and for the same the EPFO body has listed some of the best practices to follow for ensuring the best results like well-lit surroundings with minimum shadow, cleaning the device’s front camera lens beforehand to avoid blurry images etc.
5. Remember to once blink your eyes so that the app captures your image.
6. After the scan is complete using the AadhaarFaceRD app, the outline colour in red will change to green, suggesting completion of the face scan process.
7. Now you need to enter your aadhaar and the system will auto-fetch your aadhaar-seeded mobile number, post clicking on the consent check-box and subsequent validation, a message will appear saying Aadhaar face authentication is complete.
