The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch the E-PRAAPTI (EPF Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts) portal to help subscribers track and activate old or inoperative provident fund accounts without requiring a Universal Account Number UAN using Aadhaar-based access, news agency ANI reported.

Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the initiative is aimed at simplifying access to long-forgotten savings and making EPF services more transparent and paperless.

“The portal will provide a streamlined Aadhaar-based authentication mechanism that will enable members to securely access their old EPF account, which may not have a UAN linked with it, and initiate the process for updating their member profile, followed by seamless UAN linking and activation,” Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said, ANI reported.

He added that in the initial phase, the portal will be member ID-based to ensure a secure and efficient rollout and provide immediate benefits to members who already have their member IDs.

Going forward, it is proposed to expand the scope of E-PRAAPTI to include members who may not be able to recall or access their old member IDs.

Claim settlement rise in FY 2025 26

The move comes as EPFO has recorded a significant rise in claim settlements in the financial year 2025 26. According to official data cited by the government, record-level claim settlements were achieved during the year, reflecting improved efficiency in processing withdrawals and benefits.

“The EPFO has registered a record level of claim settlements in FY 2025 26, reflecting improved efficiency, faster processing and better service delivery for subscribers,” ANI quoted Mansukh Mandaviya as saying.

The minister said ongoing reforms and digitisation efforts have improved the speed, transparency and efficiency of EPF services across the country.

Officials added that the digital upgrade is part of a wider push to improve service delivery under EPFO, reduce dependency on manual processes and make access to retirement savings faster and more user-friendly.
