According to government data, nearly 71.11% of advance claims were processed through auto mode within three days in 2025–26, marking a sharp rise from 59.19% in the previous financial year. The improvement highlights a continued shift towards faster, technology-driven processing of provident fund requests.

Advance withdrawals, which allow members to access a portion of their savings for urgent financial needs, form a major share of total EPF claims. The increased use of automated processing has helped reduce delays and minimise manual intervention, enabling quicker access to funds for subscribers.

Officials noted that the rising reliance on auto-mode settlement is part of a broader push to streamline services and improve ease of access for EPF members. The system now allows eligible claims to be processed without extensive documentation or prolonged verification steps, especially in cases where records are already digitally verified.

The data also indicates a wider improvement in overall efficiency within EPFO operations, with a growing number of services being shifted to digital and automated platforms.

With faster turnaround times and higher auto-settlement rates, the EPFO is aiming to enhance liquidity access for salaried employees while reducing dependency on physical processes.
