The EPFO had suspended several member services, including claim submission and passbook downloads, from June 26 to June 30 as part of a database consolidation and software upgradation exercise.

In a post on X, the retirement fund body said services on the Member Portal, Employer Portal and the UMANG app would remain unavailable during the migration period. It added that the upgraded platform is expected to deliver faster, more reliable and secure services once the transition is complete.

The organisation also sent SMS alerts to EPFO subscribers, informing them that member services such as online claim submission and passbook downloads would be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window. The message said services are expected to be restored from July 1, 2026, and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.

The maintenance exercise is part of EPFO's efforts to modernise its technology infrastructure and improve the user experience for its over 7 crore members. While online services remain inaccessible during the transition, normal operations are expected to resume once the upgraded system goes live.

With the migration scheduled to conclude on June 30, members are expected to regain access to digital services from July 1. Subscribers who postponed filing claims or downloading their passbooks because of the temporary shutdown can resume these activities once the upgraded platform becomes operational. EPFO says the exercise is intended to enhance the speed, reliability and security of its online services.
