8th Pay Commission: What Defence and Railway unions need to know about May 2026 meetings

The Eighth Central Pay Commission will hold stakeholder meetings with Defence and Railway organisations, institutions, and employee unions in Delhi on May 13-14, 2026.

According to an official notice dated May 6, 2026, the interactions will be conducted with bodies under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Ministry of Railways (MoR), including unions and associations of Defence Forces and Railways that are located or registered in Delhi.

How to apply for the meeting

Stakeholders who wish to interact with the Commission must submit their request online by May 10, 2026. The process requires filing a memorandum through the official portal, after which a unique Memo ID will be generated. This Memo ID will be needed while seeking an appointment with the Commission.

Only those who complete the memorandum submission and appointment request within the deadline will be considered for participation in the scheduled meetings.

Meeting schedule and process

The interaction sessions are scheduled strictly for May 13 and 14, 2026. However, the Commission has clarified that venue details and exact timings will be shared separately with shortlisted participants after applications are processed.

Other 8th Pay Commission meetings in May-June 2026

Hyderabad (May 18-19, 2026): Stakeholders must submit memorandums and request appointments by May 8, 2026.
Srinagar (June 1-4, 2026): Central Government and Jammu & Kashmir-based organisations can participate. Last date for applications is May 16, 2026.
Leh (June 8, 2026): Stakeholders from Ladakh must also apply by May 16, 2026 to seek interaction slots.

For all locations, the Commission has clarified that venue details and final schedules will be shared separately after applications are processed.

More consultations planned

The Commission has also indicated that this is part of a wider consultation exercise. More meetings with stakeholders across Delhi and other locations are expected in the coming months, with updates to be published on the official website.

Stakeholders have been advised to adhere carefully to deadlines and procedural requirements to ensure their participation in the consultation process.
