For the April-June quarter of FY 2026-27, the government kept interest rates unchanged across all small savings schemes for the eighth consecutive quarter. The interest rates have remained the same since the notification issued for the quarter beginning April 1, 2026.

"The rates of interest on various Small Savings Schemes for the first quarter of FY 2026-27, starting from April 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2026, shall remain unchanged from those notified for the fourth quarter (January 1, 2026 to March 31, 2026) of FY 2025-26," the finance ministry had said in a notification.

The Ministry of Finance is expected to announce the interest rates on small savings schemes for the July-September quarter of FY 2026-27 today, June 30. The small savings interest rates are widely tracked by millions of account holders across the country, especially small savers and senior citizens who depend on these schemes for guaranteed returns. These schemes include Public Provident Fund (PPF), Senior Citizens' Savings Scheme (SCSS), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP, National Savings Certificate (NSC), Post Office fixed deposit, Post Office Recurring Deposit, and Post Office Monthly Income Scheme.
