Gold and silver prices were mixed in early trade on Wednesday. MCX gold was marginally lower, while silver gained. Here are the latest gold and silver rates, along with rates quoted by major jewellers.
MCX gold futures were trading at ₹1,62,860 per 10 grams, down ₹22 or 0.01% from the previous close of ₹1,62,882 at the time of writing. The contract opened at ₹1,62,855 and touched an intraday high of ₹1,63,202.
MCX silver futures were trading at ₹2,45,426 per kg, up ₹1,299 or 0.53% from the previous close of ₹2,44,127.
In the domestic bullion market, gold rose ₹2,700 to ₹1,67,100 per 10 grams on Tuesday, extending its gains for the fourth consecutive session, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Silver, however, declined ₹3,500 to ₹2,50,000 per kg as traders booked profits after a three-session rally, PTI reported.
In international markets, spot gold fell 0.26% to USD 4,639.51 an ounce, while silver declined 1.04% to USD 67.88 an ounce.
At Kalyan, 24K gold was priced at ₹1,63,860 per 10 grams, while the 22K gold rate stood at ₹1,50,100 per 10 grams on Wednesday, August 26.
These rates can differ from bullion or exchange-traded prices. The final price of jewellery can also vary depending on applicable taxes, making charges and other costs.
On August 26, 2026, gold prices declined across all purity levels in the daily bullion physical market. The price of 999-purity gold fell from ₹1,62,344 in the AM session to ₹1,62,041 in the PM session, while 995-purity gold declined from ₹1,61,694 to ₹1,61,392. Gold of 916, 750 and 585 purity also recorded marginal declines during the day.
Silver prices witnessed a sharper fall, with 999-purity silver declining from ₹2,43,446 in the AM session to ₹2,41,848 in the PM session. In the India spot market, gold and silver were quoted at ₹1,62,041 and ₹2,41,848, respectively, on August 25, 2026.
The IBJA rate is a benchmark bullion price and is different from the final retail price of jewellery.
For Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) premature redemption, the redemption price is based on the simple average of the closing price of 999-purity gold for the previous three business days, as published by IBJA.
