Gold rates in Delhi on November 5, 2026, indicative, before making charges and GST

As the festive shopping ahead of Dhanteras enters in the last phase, retailers and traders are keeping their extra staff for one more day.

Since November 1, the capital has seen ₹49, ₹27, ₹316 and now ₹322 a gram of gains, ₹714 in all, or 5.1%. The ₹338 that October 31 took away has been recovered more than twice over, and Thursday's price print also sits above the ₹14,410 of October 29.

Please treat the above numbers as indicative rather than final. The board you see in a shop reflects that shop's actual price position. And two stores a kilometre apart can differ by tens of rupees a gram. So buyers should check a few stores before finalising their jewellery purchase. To the carat-based price, making charges and 3% GST are added. For instance, a 10-gram 22 karat piece with 8% making charges attracts GST of ₹4,342, taking the total to about ₹1,49,062.

Making charges can range from about 5% on plain bangles to 18% on machine-cut designs. You may negotiate this charge on the eve of the festival. You should also check that the jewellery piece you are buying is hallmarked, that its six-digit HUID matches the bill, and that weight, purity, labour and tax are printed separately.
