Stock market today: The equity benchmark indices opened with mild losses on Wednesday, November 13, amid selling in index heavyweights M&M, RIL, and Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL). 

At 09:20 AM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 78,553.49 levels, down 122 points, or 0.15%, while the NSE's NIFTY50 index was trading at 23,820, down 63 points, or 0.27%.

The top five gainers on the NIFTY50 index were NTPC, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, and Adani Enterprises. The top five losers were M&M, Maruti, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, and BPCL. 

Buzzing Stocks

Shares of BSE Ltd were trading 3% lower at ₹4,537 apiece on the NSE after the company reported a strong set of numbers for the September quarter. 

BSE on Tuesday reported a three-time surge in net profit to ₹347 crore for the quarter under review. The exchange had posted a net profit of ₹120.5 crore in the year-ago period.

Droneacharya Aerial Innovations stock was down nearly 17% at ₹113 on the BSE. 

On the other hand, Bosch shares were up 3% at ₹34,229.25 apiece on the BSE, a day after the company reported its Q2 results. 

The auto components firm on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit declined 46% on-year to ₹536 crore in the September 2024 quarter. The company reported a net profit of ₹1,000 crore in the July-September quarter of last fiscal.

Revenue from operations increased to ₹4,394 crore in the second quarter compared with ₹4,130 crore in the year-ago period. 

KNR Constructions shares were trading over 13% higher at ₹322.10 apiece on the BSE. The company last week reported over 40% rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹12.37 crore for the September 2024 quarter.

Broader Market

The BSE MidCap index was trading at 44,821.60 levels, down 447 points, or 0.99%. The BSE SmallCap index was trading 826 points, or 1.54% lower at 52,778.61 levels.
