Stock market today: The domestic equity market managed to close in the green for the third consecutive session on Thursday, January 30, ahead of the presentation of the Economic Survey for 2024-25.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey 2024-25 on Friday, January 31, 2025, when Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha convene briefly after President Droupadi Murmu’s address to Parliament.

The stock market ended in the green amid healthy buying in sectors such as energy, oil & gas, healthcare, utilities, and realty counters.

The session was volatile as it was the expiry day of futures & options (F&O) contracts for the January series. On the expiry day, there is a rush of activity as market participants adjust their positions—close out contracts or roll over to the next expiry.
