Defence technology company Zen Technologies' share price surged over 4% during the trading session on Tuesday, July 21, after the company secured a ₹177 crore defence order from India’s Ministry of Defence, according to an exchange filing.

Shares of Zen Technologies surged more than 4% to an intraday high of ₹1,824 apiece during Tuesday’s market hours, compared to ₹1,749.80 at the previous stock market close, according to NSE data.

As per the NSE filings, the order update highlighted that Zen Technologies will carry out upgradation and integration of tank and crew gunnery simulators for a total value of ₹177.50 crore, including goods and services tax (GST).

“We are pleased to inform you that the company has received an order amounting to ₹177.5 crore (including GST), for upgradation and integration of Tank and Crew Gunnery Simulators from Ministry of Defence, Government of India,” the company informed the stock exchanges.

The company also disclosed that the domestic order is expected to be executed within a one-year period from the date of order book update, according to the exchange filing.
