VIP Industries board gives nod for ₹500 crore fundraising plans; stock down 22% YTD

VIP Industries on Friday, September 18, said its board of directors has given a nod to raise up to ₹500 crore in fundraising plans for fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27).

“…we hereby inform you that, the Board of Directors of the Company ("Board"), at its meeting held today, i.e., Friday, September 18, 2026, has, inter alia, approved the proposal for raising funds for an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹ 500 crores (Rupees Five Hundred Crores) during FY 2026-27, in one or more tranches,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

The luggage and travel accessories maker said the funds may be raised through the issuance of equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each, debt securities, convertible securities, depository receipts (ADR/GDR), FCCBs, warrants, preference shares, other eligible securities, or any other financial instrument.

The company further said that the proposed fundraising may be undertaken through one or more permissible modes, including a public issue, rights issue, qualified institutional placement, debt issue, or preferential issue, subject to applicable approvals.

“VIP is back on the growth path after several quarters; the proposed fund raise will further accelerate Company’s ongoing growth initiatives, funding of working capital and enhancing capabilities that will support long-term value creation,” VIP Industries said.

The said investments aim to reinforce the firm’s market leadership and position it to capture emerging growth opportunities in the luggage and travel ecosystem.

On Friday, VIP Industries shares settled at ₹299.1 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 1.69%.

From the beginning of the year, VIP Industries shares have declined 22%. Over a month’s time, the stock has slipped 3%, while for a six-month period, it has tumbled 11%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹454.30 on September 18, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹278.25 on May 18, 2026.
