Vedanta board clears first interim dividend for FY27 at ₹5 per share; check record date, other details

Vedanta board of directors in its meeting on Thursday, October 8, approved the first interim dividend for the financial year 2026-27 (FY27).

The board cleared an interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share on a face value of ₹1 per equity share for FY27, amounting to nearly ₹1,955 crore.

The company had also set a record date for the dividend payout on October 14, 2026.

Last month, the Vedanta Group’s flagship company considered and approved the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis to raise funds aggregating up to ₹3,500 crore from investors.

Vedanta will issue up to 3,50,000 or 3.5 lakh non-convertible debentures, each at a face value of ₹1 lakh apiece, in order to raise up to ₹3,500 crore from the fundraising move. The overall fundraising move will be carried out in one or more tranches.

Here’s how Vedanta's share price is faring

Following the development, at 1:18 PM, Vedanta shares were trading at ₹254.45 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 1.89%. The stock has touched an intraday low and high of ₹254.05 per share and ₹262.35 per share, respectively, on Thursday.

Over a month’s time, the stock has fallen 16%, while for a six-month period, it has declined 64%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹795 on April 21, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹247.25 on October 1, 2026.

Vedanta Q1 FY27 earnings

The mining conglomerate reported a 71.8% rise in consolidated net profit at ₹5,473 crore in the quarter ended June 2026 (Q1 FY27), citing higher sales amid rising global metal prices and a lower exchange rate of the rupee.

In the year-ago period, the Anil Agarwal-led company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹3,185 crore.

Revenue from operations during the first quarter of FY27 rose by 53.6% to ₹24,205 crore from ₹15,754 crore logged a year ago.

Expenses during the reporting quarter rose to ₹17,558 crore from ₹13,203 crore recorded in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Vedanta Ltd continues as the parent listed company, housing businesses including Hindustan Zinc and its future-facing ventures.

According to NSE data, as of October 8, 2026, Vedanta has a total market capitalisation of over ₹1 lakh crore.
