TVS Motor Company appoints Peyman Kargar as Director and CEO; shares decline

TVS Motor Company share price: Shares of TVS Motor Company were in the spotlight on Friday, August 28, as the automobile manufacturer said that its board of directors appointed Peyman Kargar as Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with effect from January 27, 2027.

According to a regulatory filing, the company said Kargar will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue as President & CEO of TVS Motor until January 27, 2027, to ensure a seamless transition.

Following the transition, Radhakrishnan will serve as non-executive director up to the date of the ensuing annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled for July 2027.

Kargar currently serves as President of International Business at TVS Motor Company.

In his new role, he will lead the company as it focuses on further growing its business in India and globally through product innovation, premiumisation and expansion into developed markets, the firm stated.

“The leadership transition comes as TVS Motor Company builds on strong business performance and continues to consolidate its position in India and expand its global presence,” the company further stated.

Commenting on the new appointment, Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said: “This appointment marks an important step for TVS Motor Company as we prepare for the future. Peyman is an accomplished global leader with deep industry experience, strategic vision and a strong understanding of customers and markets.”

Venu further stated that, as president, international business, Kargar has already made a “meaningful contribution” to the company’s business, adding that “I am confident he is the right person to lead TVS Motor Company and further strengthen our position among the world's leading mobility companies.”

“I would also like to thank K. N. Radhakrishnan for his outstanding contribution to TVS Motor Company and the wider TVS VENU group over many years. His leadership, passion, and commitment have helped shape the company into the strong organisation it is today,” Venu added.

Peyman Kargar said that the company, building on its momentum, is entering into a new phase of growth, expanding its presence and further consolidating its position in India and global markets.

He added that he will focus on realising the company’s vision and strengthening its technology leadership, AI capabilities, commitment to quality, and customer centricity.

“I am confident Peyman will lead TVS Motor Company with distinction and wish him every success in the role and I look forward to supporting a smooth transition over the coming months,” K. N. Radhakrishnan stated.

TVS Motor Company stock performance

Shares of TVS Motor Company declined as much as 2.34% to hit an intraday low of ₹4,307.60 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, August 28, compared with Thursday’s closing price of ₹4,409.80 apiece.

At around 11:26 AM, the scrip was trading 2.12% lower at ₹4,316.40 per equity share.

The stock has fallen 2% in the past week but gained 8% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has advanced 14%.

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹4,484.50 per unit on August 26, 2026, they touched a year’s low of ₹3,228 apiece on May 19, 2026.

TVS Motor Company has a total market capitalisation of ₹2.05 lakh crore as of August 28, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
