Trent Ltd shares are in focus on Friday, July 5, after the company’s total market capitalisation crossed the ₹2 lakh crore mark. Trent has become the fifth Tata Group company to cross the ₹2 lakh crore milestone.

Prior to Trent, the four Tata Group companies to have breached the ₹2 lakh market capitalisation milestone include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Motors, Titan, and Tata Steel. Trent has now joined the 46 listed companies in India that command a market valuation of ₹2 lakh crore or more.

The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹1,99,961 crore at the day end on July 5, owing to profit booking.

Earlier in the day, Trent Ltd shares rallied as much as 0.83% to hit a record high of ₹5,644.45 apiece on the NSE, extending the gains for the second straight day.

The Tata Group stock has shown an upward trend with the shares rising 2.04% in the past five days and 19.81% in a month. In six months the Trent Ltd shares have gained 81.89%. The stock has more than doubled investors’ money by rising 223.96% in the past one year.

Trent Ltd Financials

The company posted strong numbers for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended March 31, 2024. The company’s consolidated revenue from operations for the March quarter grew 51% to ₹3,297.7 crore compared to ₹2,182.75 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal. Trent’s revenue from operations for FY24 grew 50% to ₹12,375.1 crore compared to ₹8,242.02 crore in FY23.

Trent’s net profit for the March quarter of FY24 grew 1484% to ₹712.09 crore compared to ₹44.95 crore in the March quarter of FY23. The Tata Group company’s net profit for FY24 increased 275% to ₹1,477.46 crore compared to ₹393.63 crore in FY23.

According to Trent’s website, the brand has 22 in-house-designed labels across product categories. As of March 2024, the Westside brand had 232 stores across 91 cities.

Utsa

Utsa is Trent’s ethnic wear brand which offers a range of ethnic apparel, beauty products and accessories. As per the company, Utsa is a modern Indian lifestyle destination which offers ethnic apparel, beauty products and accessories celebrating Indian-ness.

Star Bazaar

The diversified retail company entered the hypermarket business in 2004 with the launch of Star Bazaar. Trent retails daily grocery items and other food products through Star Bazaar.

Booker Wholesale

Booker Wholesale operates on the Cash and Carry model and offers branded and private label goods to kirana Shops, provision stores, food stalls, restaurants and hotels, as per the company’s website.

Misbu

Trent caters to the beauty and fashion accessories vertical through Misbu, according to the company’s website.

Samoh

Samoh is Trent’s premium occasion wear brand. The company opened its first store in 2023.
