Top gainers and losers, September 19: HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, Trent fall over 1.2%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their three-day winning streak on Friday, September 19, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and HCL Technologies. The SENSEX fell as much as 528 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 25,286. The SENSEX ended 388 points lower at 82,626 and NIFTY50 index declined 97 points to close at 25,327.

NIFTY50 gainers and losers

HCL Technologies was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 1.59% to close at ₹1,470. ICICI Bank (-1.35%), Trent (-1.21%), Titan (-1.18%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (-1.13%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Adani Enterprises was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 5.25% to close at ₹2,528 after market regulator SEBI in its final order on Thursday cleared Gautam Adani and his group of stock manipulation allegations made by US short-seller Hindenburg Research.

SBI Life (1.33%), IndusInd Bank (1.16%), Adani Ports (1.15%) and Bharti Airtel (0.97%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.04% or 21 points to close at 59,094. As many as 55 shares in the index ended higher while 45 closed lower.

Vodafone Idea was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 7.91% to close at ₹8.46 after the Supreme Court deferred hearing the debt-laden telecom firm’s plea on AGR dues.
According to a CNBC-TV18 report, the government has told the top court that it is not opposing VI’s plea; however, some solutions are required.

The telecom company had moved to the Supreme Court seeking reassessment of additional adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues last week.

Adani Total Gas rose 7.55% mirroring gains in other Adani group shares.

Vishal Mega Mart (3.59%), IREDA (3.26%) and Motilal Oswal (2.90%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Paytm (-4.58%), Escorts (-2.54%), Exide Industries (-2.35%), SBI Cards (-1.93%) and OFSS (-1.55%) were losers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.15% or 28 points to close at 18,505. As many as 52 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended lower while 48 closed higher.

Anant Raj was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 9.14% close at ₹639. PCBL (5.62%), Aster DM Healthcare (5.15%), Dr Lal Pathlabs (4.16%) and CESC (3.79%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Piramal Enterprises was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 4.07% to close at ₹1,130. Atul (-3.39%), Neuland Labs (-2.98%), Signature Global (-2.96%) and HBL Engineering (-2.25%) were also among the losers.
