Top gainers and losers on June 5: Eternal rises 5%, Trent, Dr. Reddy’s surges over 3%; check full list

SUMMARY

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 58,303, up 378.35 points or 0.65%, supported mainly by Hindustan Zinc (6.07%), L&T Finance (5.19%), Glenmark Pharma (4.45%), BSE Ltd (4.22%) and SJVN Ltd (3.96%), which were the top gainers.

The Indian benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY closed in the green on Thursday, bolstered by buying in blue-chip shares, including ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries. This comes amidst foreign fund inflows and strong global market trends.

The SENSEX rose 443.79 points or 0.55% to settle at 81,442.04. Furthermore, NIFTY surged 130.7 points or 0.53% to close at 24,750.90.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY50 pack was led by Eternal Ltd, which rose 4.53% as Morgan Stanley maintained a positive outlook on the company. Dr. Reddy’s shares surged 3.05% on the back of a partnership with Alvotech to co-develop, manufacture and commercialise a biosimilar candidate Keytruda for global markets. Trent (3.15%), Power Grid (2.01%) and ICICI Bank (1.77%) were among the top gainers.

However, IndusInd Bank (-1.39%), Tata Consumer Products (-1.07%), Axis Bank (-0.94%), Bajaj Finance (-0.69%) and Bajaj Finserv (-0.57%) tried to drag the index down.

NIFTY MIDCAP 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 58,303, up 378.35 points or 0.65%, supported mainly by Hindustan Zinc (6.07%), L&T Finance (5.19%), Glenmark Pharma (4.45%), BSE Ltd (4.22%) and SJVN Ltd (3.96%), which were the top gainers.

On the flipside, the Housing & Urban Development Corporation fell 2.3%. Ola Electric (-1.88%), Sona BLW Precision Forgings (-1.87%), Biocon (-1.72%) and Dixon Technologies (-1.71%) were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index increased by 175.50 points or 0.96% to close at 18,432.60. Its top winners included Data Patterns (6.32%), Welspun Corp (5.88%), Welspun Living (4.85%), CDSL (4.54%) and Angel One (4.04%).

Conversely, Godfrey Phillips (-1.97%), PVR Inox (-1.88%), Firstsource Solutions (-1.80%), Zen Technologies (-1.73%) and Kalpataru Projects International (-1.62%) were among its top losers.

NIFTY realty (1.75%), healthcare (1.07%), and metal (0.59%) were the top-performing sectors on Thursday.
