SUMMARY

The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their two-day losing streak on Monday, June 16. The SENSEX rose as much as 747 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,967 led by gains in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services and Bharti Airtel. The SENSEX ended 678 points higher at 81,796 and NIFTY50 index advanced 228 points to close at 24,946.
45 shares in the NIFTY50 index ended higher led by Bharat Electronics' 2.49% gain. During the session Bharat Electronics shares rose as much as 2.56% to hit record high of ₹404.40 on the BSE.
HDFC Life (2.34%), SBI Life (2.27%), UltraTech Cement (2.20%) and Tech Mahindra (2.07%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Tata Motors was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 3.76% to close at ₹685 after the auto major said it expects fiscal 2026 earnings before interest and taxes margins (EBIT margins) of 5% to 7% for its British luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), lower than an initially targeted 10%, as the tariffs by the US on auto imports have put the global automotive industry under pressure.
Dr Reddy's Labs (-0.92%), Sun Pharma (-0.52%), Adani Ports (-0.34%) and Jio Financial Services (-0.02%) were also among the notable losers.
NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.93% or 541 points to close at 58,768. As many as 76 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher.

As many as 2.77 crore shares changed hands on the National Stock Exchange against average trading volume 53.74 lakh shares.
Supreme Industries (6.10%), KPIT Technologies (3.94%) and MFSL (3.77%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Page Industries was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 1.22% to close at ₹45,600. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (-1.11%), MRF (-1.09%), Apollo Tyres (-0.90%) and Bharti Hexacom (-0.90%) were also among the losers.
NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.95% or 174 points to close at 18,549. As many as 69 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher. Newgen Technologies was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 4.44% to close at ₹1,219. MCX (3.71%), Atul (3.52%), Mahanagar Gas (3.50%) and IIFL (3.40%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Neuland Laboratories was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.09% to close at ₹12,785. HFCL (-2.67%), Tejas Networks (-1.87%), Aegis Logistics (-1.73%) and Five Star Business Finance (-1.34%) were also among the losers.
